I think he's referring the kick drum cover thingy. I'm assuming it's a fabric much like a windshield cover. I think that's how MadCatz did theirs.

If it's like the other kick drum covers that have been made, it's fabric with a tension wire around the edge. Sort of like those collapsible Frisbees.

It doesn't really need to be too much more durable than that - it's not as if you're actually kicking it!
