Cannot select character?

Hi guys, my wife an I are having the hardest time figuring out the simplest thing.
When you start a tour band, or even quick play, how do you select a different character?
It appears to randomly select one for you.. especially in quick play. When it says “select character” I’ve tried pressing every button and nothing changes it… the only thing we have found is to press B (back) and select again, it will then randomly select another…

This is a pain as I guess Rock Band thinks its Cock Band and I’m always randomly selected as a guy…

You can't select another character if you haven't created any........

thanks! but even when creating the charter i can only chose one random guy... (litterly, its always a guy!)

You have to log into the same Xbox profile you created the character with.
