Yes, it's old news that the King of Pop is dead, but I feel as if I should give this tribute that was made by Buckethead, some notation.
BucketHead Land (http://www.bucketheadland.com/)
Former guitarist for Guns N' Roses, BucketHead, is known for his various styles of playing guitar, and being a fast shredder.....but BucketHead settles down and wrote this nice six minute tribute instrumental for Michael.
The best way to describe this tribute is that it is basically a song about Michael's life, starting slow, signifying his birth and aging....
Picking up tempo and being slightly cheery, this could be comparable to when he aquired fame in the Jackson 5, and then later on, his solo career.
The song then slows down, probably signifying that Michael Jackson's fame was fading away little by little.....but still contains a few elements from the past segment.
The last part could represent Michael Jackson's return to the music scene, when he announced the tour dates, giving hope to the people that the King of Pop was back........and then the song ends abruptly, signifying that his life ending was so abrupt and unforseen, throwing off the course of the song.
Here is the Youtubed version of the tribute if you cannot access Buckethead land. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2oUPtNhcnE)

Former guitarist for Guns N' Roses, BucketHead,
can we refer to him as a virtuoso who made a mistake by joining a band involving axl rose?
but on a more serious note
I am always stunned at the emotion Buckethead gets out of his guitar
nothing shocking, I actually feel like MJ is still alive through this song, it seems like its a song that's telling people not to forget the great performer he was and the controversy died with MJ, to me it feels like he is trying to convey that MJ will always be remembered for being a legendary performer and that everyone misses him
damn buckethead is deep
or I'm looking too much into it
TL;DR song is saddening to realize that a legend has passed away
on a VERY unrelated note I met my GF at work the day MJ died and that's how we started talking so MJ will always be a special memory for me

Agreed, he seems way out of place in GnR.
I'm glad that someone also understands the depth that Buckethead can put in his music, despite it just being an instrumental, his music paints a picture for you to figure out.
Also, that's a nice story, congratulations bro.

It's a great song, reflective of what Buckethead was feeling; a child lamenting the loss of a hero.

I've always much preferred Buckethead's emotional pieces to his shredding pieces. And this song is a brilliant example of his emotional work at its best. Thanks for the heads up.
