Drum not recognized?

I just bought and opened the game. Now I plug the drum in and the PS3 doesn't seem to recognize it. The red PS light on the drum is intermittently blinking.

Please oh please don't tell me this is broken out of the box.

I feel I should mention, the drums and the light were fine when I was going through the menus. However, after I updated to 2.01 is when the lights started blinking and the drums stopped working,

Did you try making sure the cable is secure at the dongle? Also my drums don't work sometimes unless I unplug/replug them in the usb port.

My PS3 is the original, it has 4 ports so I don't use a dongle. I've tried replugigng them many times.

Can you do a test for me? Can you plug it in your PC and see if its recognized as a game controller? Mine keeps saying "The USB device has malfunctioned". According to everything i've read it should be detected fine in windows.

Well I just started the RMA process and chose express. Anybody think ill get it by christmas?
