I was playing an intense round of enter sandman on expert, online, when all of a sudden one of my drumsticks basically snapped in half. I continued on with the broken drumstick, 90'd the song, and taped it back together once i found the other piece. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if i just play too hard. Oh and fyi i had the felt/foam sound dampening "mod" installed lol.

You're playing pretty hard man, my friend breaks drumsticks all the time on his real drum kit, but thats completely different since the pads dont play any different depending on how hard you hit them. I've never even broken a drumstick on a real set, so idk how you managed that lol. Either you got a ****ty drumstick, or you need to stop playing so hard

well could be two things
1.whaling the ship out of them
2. but i believe you may have a had crack in the wood when they where made. the very tip of mine broke off in the first time i tried the drums.

Drummer break sticks all the time. Its not surpring that a piece of wood would eventually break after being whaled on repeatedly. Go get some replacement 5A sticks at your local music store.

Make sure to get a spare set for when you bust those up, too :-)

My sticks had a kind of hollow sound, like it had a crack in it. I don't know, never played drums before, first time using sticks. They were like that from the moment I pulled 'em out of the box.

I went to my local music store, Melodee Music and bought a cheap pair for $3. Even the cheap pair are 100% better to me. But what do I know "shrug". They are Staggs or something like that. Actually bought 2 pair for $6, normally $4 a pair. Can't imagine what a $10 or $15 pair feel like.

It feels relatively sturdy with the tape, but I'll try to get them replaced anyways. I don't think I was playing THAT hard, but then again I play with 5.1 headphones on and my hands get sore after a few hours. That may be normal though.

If anyone breaks sticks they aren't playing properly. Sure you can wack it on the plastic and maybe crack the stick in two but basically you should never break a stick unless its old and already banged up. Drummers who break sticks are playing way too hard.

I'm sorry but whats the difference between "cracking the stick in two" and "breaking the stick"? If you mean "crack in two" like my kick pedal, it's going to break soon anyways.

The drum sticks that came with the game are crap anyway.

Pick up a pair of ScoJo sticks or some other real ones from a local store. There was a pair at guitar center with a rubber core to reduce vibration, it looked real nice (and only like $10). I was afraid of killing my sticks it came with so my friend who's a real drummer gave me his old ones. much better.

I've tried different types of sticks from 5A, 5B, wood, nylon, etc. I finally settled in for a pair of 2BN. I like the extra thump since I play light for faster speed.

what sucks is breaking two sets of brand new vators out of the packages in less than five minutes. that's real drums of course though.
