Well, I just got my replacement pedal last Wednesday! Yeh! Fast service! However, didn't do any good, replacement pedal is just as crappy as the original one and 3 days later...busted.
So even think for one moment that yours is going to make it through the lifetime of the game. You might think you may have a light foot but it doesn't mean that your friends coming over are going to be that delicate. :)
Anyway, since I had to think of something fast before I brought the entire game to the party in an hour, I came up with an ad-hoc solution involving:
One 6 x 16 flat Lego plate to brace the top of the pedal
Two 2 x 12 flat Lego plates to brace the bottom sides of the pedal
Lots of packaging tape:

Believe me it feels sturdy as heck and no longer has the feeling of 'oh, I'm going to fall apart in about two more stomps' Seriously, if your pedal hasn't already broke, I'd definitely listen to this community and take preventive measures by the advice from other players in this community. This is just another solution if your little brother has those bricks lying around and/or you can't afford that Titanium plate that one ingenius community member is selling on e-Bay.
Stomp with confidence!

i did the same exact thing except with copious amounts of duct tape, anchored by a 2 in/sq speaker cover from an old Altec Lansing set i got with a computer.. essentiallty the same coverage and well.. the pedal works!
i ordered one of rasehead's metal covers just to get that _all over_ feel

I think I'd rather go with the metal plates. No offense, but that looks like crap. Also, I'm a grow man with no children, so I lack easy access to Legos.

Duly noted, as stated "This is just another solution if your little brother has those bricks lying around and/or you can't afford that Titanium plate that one ingenius community member is selling on e-Bay."
And as mentioned, one hour before the party, not even the option of "Buy It Now" on e-bay with those plates are going to save your evening. Again, some peoples options are limited and you know what, no one even mentioned the pedal and it's massive amount of packaging tape...they were too busy having fun.

Good 'ole American ingenuity at it's finest!
Any Port in a storm.
You very likely saved the party with that bit of inspirational improvisation.
Well done!

I think you need to at least solidify for at least 5 hours before you attempt any playing.
