ion drums on gh5

Hey guys i had a quick question. I've heard alot aboot the ion drums not working fully with gh world tour and metallica (cymbals dont register). Is it possible to get the cymbals to register if i use a 1/4" mono splitter on my yellow and blue pad, rather than having my cymbals connected into the cymbal port on the ion module?

Yep, many people have tried that and it works.
