So when GH first hit, I rearranged my tv room a bit for the best quality and sound I could get. Instead of just using the TV, I hooked up 5.1 surround with 5 small speakers, a sub, and two big box speakers. Needless to say, you can hear me rocking out halfway down the street. Crank up the amp and giver!
Even better, I've set up a projector in a seperate room for parties.
Show off pics or tell us about the stage you'll set for RB!

That is awesome, my set up is quite crappy, but it gives my room that dirty bar look, I actually have no idea how we're going to fit those two Fenders and drums in here. We already have an actual guitar, a bass, two amps, four GH guitars, and three beds, so I'm trying to figure stuff out first.

I'm really happy with them. I'm not an audio maniac by any means, but they are some quality speakers. Only thing is it doesn't sound like you can buy individual satellites, sooo not too happy about that. The sub is pretty b.a. too. I had the sub about halfway up when i originally popped in EpIII to test it all out and it definitely shook the house upstairs hah. Of course with a kid on the way in a few months, i don't know how loud I'll be playin RB. :(

If you want to go for Peppers on vinyl be sure get one with all the included goodies (it came with a cardboard sheet with punchouts of cool stuff like a sgt's armband). If you have the true soul of a completest you'll feel dirty with less.

That must be hard to find... Im not really a collector so to speak but Beatles vinyl's are always chock full of wicked memorabilia. The colour book in magical mystery tour is awesome and they've got a ton of other little things like that they included in their vinyls which is what makes them so desireable to me.
Physical Graffiti by Led Zep is another example of using the vinyl cover to it's fullest capacity.

man, klipsch subs are just sick. Expensive but sooo worth it. Best Buy carries some center channel speakers, bookshelf speakers (in a pair), and 2-way surround speakers (in a pair). Though not technically satellites, the 2-way surround speakers could work. For the kid; I fell asleep to my father playing piano when I was young. Just make RB your piano, haha. The more you play it, it'll become the thing that he/she falls asleep to :D

BUT the 65inch Widescreen I have is 1080i component only... SO The question I have been unable to get answered is "Will a PS3 run true 1080i HD through the component cables on both the games AND Bluray?" Does anyone have this set up. I can't find a straight answer anywhere. And I would be pissed if I buy a PS3 and don't get to use it they way it was intended because my 3500 dollar TV was bought back before HDMI was out.
newwaytodie

You can achieve 1080i with standard component cables.
1080p requires VGA or HDMI, but your TV doesn't support it (many don't).

I can't speak for the PS3, but the 360 will let you run 1080i through component cables. My TV was pre-HDMI also.

I have component cables hooked up to my HDTV right now, and when I play Ninja Gaiden Sigma or Super Stardust HD, the TV says "1080p." There's an option for 1080i on the display properties, so I can only imagine that 1080 works.

It's also on the Wii classic games. But there's something about playing it on the Genesis.

Pfff to you, SNES. I still got my Genesis hooked up.
SEGA does what Nintendon't!
Two best games in existence.

Yeah, And who is still producing consoles? :P
That's because after creating the perfect console with the Dreamcast, SEGA the hardware maker became one with the force. Unfortunately they left behind SEGA, the maker of sh!tty software.

I'll get a pic after I clean up a bit ;)
Right now i'm running a 60" plasma on 720p, I would do 1080p with my hdmi, BUT my actual 360 is too old and doesn't have the input :(
So 60" plasma, foosball, computer, very comfortable seating for 10, and purple walls. Yes!

I'll post a pic later as I'm at work now (trying to earn enough to buy one of those fancy big screen tvs, lol)
For now I'm rocking a 25" tv, with a 360 and some other stuff.

Nice TV Wurm!! and the free Blu-ray player? awsome deal! I bought my HDTV over a year ago, it's a 32" inch LCD Sharp Aquos. which seems lame now:(. But now I'm itching to buy a new one...:D (Samsung 40" 1080p LCD, I'm looking at you!) $1850 bucks, my wife is freaking out at the very idea, specially since she knows that I will most likely get it.;)

Thanks, yea I just when back to the bestbuy where i got it(they were out of the blu ray players) to have them order me a blu ray player and they said a best buy about 25 minutes away has them, so im gonna go there to pick it up. I'm so excited, plus the blu ray player upconverts DVDs to 1080p which is so awesome.
Best $1500 investment of my life.
PS: I know you said you were looking into a samsung, but the one i got (the deal ends the 1/31, its at BestBuy) is Sharp Aquos 42", 1080p/10,000:1 contrast ratio/4ms response time/3 hdmi ports/1 pc input/built-in speaker(they're actually pretty good too, they have a digital surround sound feature which makes it seem like you're hearing it in surround sound, that feature is better than i expected) and it goes for $1,799 but you get an $280 instant savings so its comes to about $1,519, plus you get the free blu ray player(its a sharp blu ray player, goes for $499) and 5 free blu ray movies come with that player, so overall its a pretty damn good deal.

I started this mod because I couldn't stand keeping the rb kit in my living room, when I already had huge v-drums set. But then my girlfriend got really good at drumming. Now she insists on nightly battles.
In any case, here's a video of my setup (and a little vdrums/rockband how-to).

I bet nobody else here has tried double bass pedals!
i don't have any pictures but all you need is a second pedal (duh) and a headphone jack splitter
doesn't work to well because it's too fast to pick it up on the game, but its fun to pretend you doing something insane during fills and such

You All Have Inspired Me To Find A Job And Buy A Big Screen TV(I'm 17 So Don't Think I'm A Bum Or Something) Thanks.
One of the easiest ways to get pretty expensive tv is (if your parents are nice enough, in my case they were) to go to a store like best buy/circuit city and have your parents buy it on their store card(you can set up your own if you want to, but since you're young, like myself, you won't be able to get a big enough limit to buy the tv you want) and just pay the bill that they receive every month, and since stores like these have programs to pay them off(my tv is 3 years without interest) you dont' have to pay it all off at once, just a portion of it every month during the period with no interest. so for my tv i have 3 years to pay off 1,500 bucks before i get screwed, since i work at the very least of 25 hours a week (my hours got cut since its slow right now) I have more than enough money coming in to pay off the monthly bill and still deposit money into my savings account.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU PAY THE ENTIRE BILL OFF BEFORE THE "0 INTEREST" PERIOD EXPIRES,OR YOU WILL GET ****ED!!!

Thanks. I'm on house #3. This time having a nice theater was a priority and I walked out of many fine homes that lacked a suitable room or basement I could convert into a theater space. You have a much nicer set up than I ever had when I was in an apartment or condo and I commend you for at least appearing to be concerned with how your neighbors feel :)

I noticed that you have a Samsung HDTV, how's it working for ya? I getting this one tomorrow

Once when I'm outa Jersey (reason why I was offline for a few months; I hate packing) I'll take a picture of my gaming setup. All of my consoles will be hooked up again.
Currently, I have an Xbox 360 Premium (Why the name change? Pro isn't as appealing), a Nintendo Wii, and an Xbox 360 Elite. Yes, two 360s hooked up to the same TV. Sometimes I like to put it into picture&picture and play system link with myself when I borrow another copy of a game I already have from someone else.
I can't get a good picture of mine but it has a PS3 and an atari 2600 (Pacman is awesome)

what doesn't seem to amaze me is how in these setup shots, you keep seeing guitars and such. There isn't room for a practice amp, nor a stand for the instrument, but there it is, sitting there, SCREAMING "I'm a legitimate musician!"

I got this stand and it's so cool! There's finally a place to put all the rockband stuff without a big mess in the room and cables to trip on. And it makes your stuff last longer, cause it's way expensive to replace guitars!
It's perfect for me cause I have pets that like to chew on wires.
I have drinks on the stand all the time. Which is much appreciated by the singer!
And it's so cheap. GET ONE!
