Looks pretty cool to me. I'm not a techie, but the cut and paint are really awesome and it has humbuckers. :D

Yeah, I never had the time to put on a second and third coat of laquer.

Some week I'll have to do that.

Alright, my first impression was the obvious paint job, which looks cool, but looks mean nothing when I think of guitars. (BC Rich are perfect examples of this). Just because it looks cool, if it doesn't sound good, the guitar is crap. I take it it's a custom Jackson, which I like Jackson guitars, but how in the hell can you have a Jackson without a Floyd Rose bridge? What you got looks like the Fender tremolo bridge which I never liked. Now the pickups, Jackson pickups are okay, much like Ibanez's stock pickups, but I always go for a set of Seymour Duncans on my guitars or DiMarzio's. Stock pickups never sound good, unless they are also custom made? But, I doubt that. I don't even like the inlays on the fretboard. The dots. If you going to to get a custom, I'd get a nice fret inlay to go throughout. Anyway, I rate this guitar a 4/10. Looks can be deceiving.

/ends brutally honest opinion

I took the Floyd Rose tremelo off. I switched it out with my other guitar that needed it VERY badly. As for the inlays, I have no experience with fretboards, so that was out of the question. The stock pickups might be replaced by EMG's,
just for that nice metal tone . I'm also surprized you didn't notice the weird finish. It only has one coat of laquer.

In my mind it's easier to sell than fix, but if I fix it up, I'm keeping it.

Have you ever played EMG's? I don't know if it's just me, but all EMG's sound very muddy. They are basically stock on all ESP's and Jackson's. And they only sound good with distortion. So, if you are going for a strictly metal guitar (by the looks, that's what you're going for), EMG's may fit, but I honestly feel that Seymour Duncan's and DiMarzio's are the best well-rounded pickups on the market.

My Fender is strictly clean (3 Fender Noisless single coil pickups), My SG ranges all over the place (2 Symour Duncan Alnico II Pro Humbuckers and one single coil from my Fender), Now I just need one for pure metal.

EMG's do the trick for me.

Edit: Only 2 noisless on my Fender. One is crap.

Yeah. EMG's are good for metal. One of my favorite guitarists, Jeff Loomis uses EMG's and he's from the band Nevermore, an awesome metal band. And also Kirk Hammett, I forgot about him.

So what kind of guitar do you have?

So what kind of guitar do you have?

Ibanez RG350DX - It's nice for the price I paid for it ($350), it was my first real guitar after my Squier that sounded terrible. It's great for fast leads and it's pretty versatile. I haven't customized it yet.

Ibanez RG1527 Prestige 7-string - The pickups on here are the definition of muddy pickups. Absolutely terrible. Replaced them with a DiMarzio Air Norton 7(neck) and a DiMarzio D Sonic 7(bridge) and they sound AMAZING.

Washburn DD75 Maya Pro (Dan Donagen Signature) - This is my baby, it's stocked with custom wired Seymour Duncan pickups, mahogany neck and body, Sperzel locking tuners, string-thru bridge. Awesome, plays like a dream.

*My soon to be PRS Custom would be here*

I'm not gonna lie,

A 7 string would be out of my league. Hahaa

Never realy was a fan of Washburn Maya's. They just look weird, Lol, but the PRS custom sounds like a good guitar. I hear that their quality is mindblowing.

I would kill for a PRS standard satin. It's like an eyegasm wraped in heavenly guitar tones.

Ugly as crap, but I couldn't do anything close to that.

I voted sucks but you're good at what you do.

It does have an odd body shape, but it sounds really, really good.

I use the 7-string to play a lot of stuff from Dream Theater and John Petrucci, Nevermore, and Trivium. It's a fine guitar. Ibanez, also has an 8-string guitar, that's just getting ridiculous. There's only a couple bands I know that use 8-strings and that's Bleeding Through and Divine Heresy.

I can't wait until I can get my custom PRS. It's going to cost me about 5grand but, it'll be worth every penny.

This is so true. If a guitar sounds good, good-looking is just an added bonus.
