I am having a problem with online multiplayer with Xbox live. I can see that a friend of mine is online, so I go to Band Quickplay, then player match, then I go to invite player. I invite my friend, he accepts the invite but then nothing happens. Is there a step that I am missing?

I have no problems playing Player match if I choose "Find players," but for some reason I can not invite any specific friends. Anyone have this problem before?

If not, can some one reply with step by step instructions for playing multiplayer with a specific person?

Could you try doing the Find Players function and then finding your friend? I dont have XBL but i assume you could take that route.

No, when you choose 'find players' you get assigned a random group of players who are in search of the instrument you are playing.

I am having the same issue. My connection is fine, and this function worked originally, but ever since a week or so ago I cannot send invites or accept invites correctly in Rock Band. Other games are fine. When I invite a friend directly to my game, they end up in the 'band quickplay' screen alone. When I accept an invite from a friend, I end up in the 'band quickplay' screen. Alone. This is INCREDIBLY frustrating as one of the main reasons I bought this game was to play it with friends. Does anyone have any more information about this issue?

I'm going to try and call support tomorrow and see what I find out. Good to know that I am not the only person having the problem at least.

I'm having this exact same problem. I've never been able to get an xbox live game going with my friends. It seems I can only play with strangers. The invites don't seem to do anything. Did anyone ever find a resolution for this?

Same problem here - totally sucks. Accept an invite - does nothing...Send an invite does nothing. What the hell?
What good is multiplayer if you can't do it with friends??

What's the problem?? Anyone know?? Has this ever worked b4 ??

I've never sent an invite before, so I can't tell you if it's broke for me too or not... but I HAVE gotten invited to Rock Band games before, and it has let me join. Have you guys tried having your friends go to their friends lists, clicking your name, and then clicking "join in same game"?

Unbelieveable. I have 3 brothers that live all over the US and they all got rock band for christmas just like I did....now we're trying to hook up and play and we simply can't. of course the issue is known and has been for a number of weeks yet hasn't been fixed by Christmas....BAD FORM!

I GOT THIS GAME TO PLAY WITH MY BROTHERS....FIX IT!

Me and my friend have bought this game near release, and every so often we try to play online. He tries to invite me, I try to invite him, and still we can't join each others games. This feature does not seem to ever work, no matter who on my friends list I try to play with. Joining a game with strangers when it's doing a search works, but not ever with anyone I know. Harmonix, what's the deal? Patch needed? Server errors. Please help I love your product and want to play with my friends.

Thanks

Tech support...Where's the actual help? I have this problem and apparently so do others, but no one's telling us anything...

I as well thought the whole point was to be able to start a band with others and be able to jam in the same band over the net. This does not work for me either... We all can't get together every nite.

I too am having this problem. Tried to play with a friend last night, and the friend invites did nothing. They didn't even take us to an empty Quickplay Player Match screen.... just loaded up the game, and then left us at the main menu.

My NAT tests as "Open", and his as "Moderate", though he can play virtually any other 360 game online, and does regularly. Even more bizzare, I played online RB with a different friend the night before, and though it took a couple of invite attempts, it eventually worked.

Is there a known problem with friend invites in this game? No support staff seem to have answered this question at all, so I can't find an answer by searching. I have, however, found several other threads asking this same question.
