Battery Compartment?

In the back of the Xbox 360 version of the wired guitar there is a battery compartment. I've searched everywhere i know of and still have no idea why it's there. I've tried comming up with some reasons why it would be there but the I have yet to have a legit reason. Anyone know why it's there or any ideas?

The legit reason is because they used the same casing for both the x360 and PS3 versions because it saves them money.

...and to add onto that, the battery compartment is needed for the PS3 since the guitar is wireless. So, yeah, on the 360, the compartment is completely useless until the wireless guitars come out.
