View Full Version : Beatles Drums - Quick Question

So i'm a European and as some of you may or may not know we are yet to recieve the Rock Band 2 instruments.

This is a disappointment for me as i'm particuarly interested in the new drumset with cymbal expansions.

But now the Beatles are here and i'm thinking of picking them up for the drum kit.

So my question is, are the Beatles drums the same as the Rock Band 2 drums just with a different skin? In other words, do they have velocity sensitive pads and cymbal expansion ports that I long for?

Or am I doomed to be stuck with a choice between my broken Rock Band 1 set complete with cracked yellow pad or GH:WT drums? :p:(

Cheers.

You mean the fake kick drum logo? Yes.

I'm wondering if you will eventually be able to buy these drums separately from the bundle.

I saw online that the Beatles guitar will be sold on its own for $100~ so hopefully it will happen for the drums as well

They are selling the Gretsch and Rickenbacher guitars on their own, but the guitar from the bundle, the Hofner is not showing to be sold anywhere seperately that I can find.

I'm surprised people want these drums when they aren't really that different and you can get the RB2 drums for fairly cheap now.

I'm glad to own a Ion Drumrocker...and hopefully it will work as well as it does with RB2. Altough RB2 is not velocity sensative anymore with the Ion Drumrocker...they put a patch! I don't know if RB2 drums are affected as well!!! But drumming Beatles song will be a lot of fun regardless of the level of difficulty! Ex. RB: AC/DC...not hard to drum but the songs are just too much fun not to! lol.
Looking forward to wednesday! :)

The RB2 drums were never released in Europe. This is our only way of getting them.

My blue pad on my RB1 kit (another Euro!) has been giving me problems for months, and there was no way I was going to buy another RB1 kit, so I've waited for the LE box hopefully coming to my door tomorrow for some time.

Having said that its England v Croatia WC qualifier tomorrow night so I won't be playing till quite late, and maybe for half hour or so before kickoff.

I got Rock Band back in May '08 when on holiday in New York and since then it's been played often with no issues at all. Hope I don't jinx myself!

But I've been waiting to upgrade to the RB2 drums too, whether Beatles or regular. So yah, a separate release of either version in the UK would be nice, HMX, particularly as the GH:WT drums are the suckiest sucks that ever sucked.

As a side note, I was in HMV in Leeds last week and they had the RB1 drum set - PS2/3 version - reduced to £20! So maybe that's a sign that the updated version is imminent.

And by the way...c'mon you Croats! ;) Only kidding, I'm NI so <reversepsychology>we'll probably get spanked tomorrow too</reversepsychology>
