View Full Version : It's not going to effect how much I love this game, but...

I do not like the Shea Stadium setlist. I love all those songs, but I think they could of picked better songs according to that era.

Ticket To Ride, Eight Days A Week, and I Feel Fine, I feel fine with (pun!), they fit right in to that era and 2/3 of those were performed in the Shea Stadium concerts.

...the other two, I'm Looking Through You and If I Needed Someone seem a bit like fillers to me, and I think they don't fit the era, they are more like Budokan songs, since they were on Rubber Soul.

It seems songs like Help! (!!!), Baby's In Black, and I'm Down seem more appropiate for Shea Stadium, considering they actually performed them there. And if they wanted a George song, Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby seems like the perfect choice.

I'm not complaining and i know me saying it won't change it, I'm just making an observation.

Opinions?

I'm looking through you is one of their best, so I'm just glad it made it into the game. But I do agree it's not really accurate with the time frame that they played in sheah.

I've got two thoughts on this;

1) if you pick 45 songs from the entire Beatles library of songs, someone will have a problem with SOME of them.
&
2) if they picked out what 90% of us would say is the top 45 songs, there would be less in DLC sales.

I am a fan of the early stuff and i wouldn't have bought a lot of the songs thats on the disk but, thats just me. I am sure others who are a fan of the later stuff would say the same out the 'pop' early stuff.

The short of it is, at $1.99 a song(or even close with LP packs), they will make more off the DLC than they will from the game.

The Beatles played Shea Stadium again in 1966, so "technically" songs from Rubber Soul can be in the setlist here. ;-)

You're Right. *not*

I still think there should be a cheat where Revolution 9 is played at every venue and it all has fog lights and everything.

Shea stadium was not played in 1966, if memory serves, it was August 15th 1965

The Beatles DID play Shea in 1966..August. They did the 1966 setlist including If I needed Someone.

My one and only surprise when it comes to the setlist is that they didn't pick I'm Down for Shea Stadium. How could you *not* have that in the game when it was such an easy opportunity for an awesome video as you'd have John playing the keyboard with his elbows. I was shocked they left that out. Still am.

I would have been thrilled if "I'm Down" had been included, and I was hoping it would be, but I am not at all shocked it wasn't. It's by Beatle standards a very obscure song.

Anyway, "I'm Looking Through You" is a great song (one of my wifes favorites) and "If I Needed Someone" is a very nice bit of folk-rock with a great vocal track. I mean, I would have put "Nowhere Man" in it's place, but we will get it eventually anyway. No way to please everyone all the time with a project like this.

They played Shea twice, the second during the Rubber Soul era, so they have some justification, like I Want You (She's So Heavy) has justification on the Rooftop because they played it during tape changing.

This is in no way confirmed, but definitely what many people would like to see.
