Steelers are getting their ass pummeled by the jaguars right now which is nice yet scary since the jags seem to have really asserted themselves as a contender

the pats aren't crushing the jets despite an injured clemens or whatever his name is, but a win is a win

texans crushed the broncos on thursday night so that was awesome

anything missing??

The Bobby Petrino fiasco in Atlanta.

And the Dolphins are hanging with the Ravens with one quarter left to go.

holy **** just looked up the score of the falcons game : 30 - 3. if i didn't hate michael vick so much i'd feel sorry for that team but alas thats what happens when youre team is "good" cuz of a running QB

I've hated Vick since he's come into the league. The Falcons were suckers trading up for him in that draft and letting the Chargers fall down to the 5th pick and draft Tomlinson. Oops!

I don't follow. Vick isn't even on the Falcons.

uhhh he was on the falcons before he got arrested. his absence is the key to their failures this season

also steelers with the epic comeback but the jags are marching down the field

OH No. The Dolphins have a lead with 2 minutes left.

EDIT: and Feely just kicked it out of bounds. lol

The only thing that proves is how good he was and how much he mattered to that team.

Btw, I don't like Vick either.

^ lol Overtime. god the dolphins know to **** everything up.

and vick wasnt a good QUARTERBACK he was a good runner. if he was a running back or something other than QB i wouldnt mind his prescence in the game (he's a horrible person tho) but he was QB who couldnt throw a fcuking ball therefore making him worthless

Except when he played his team was playoff good and when he didn't play they were horrible. Wins and losses are all that matter, not how many yards he throws for.

But it'll be good to see the Falcons move on. Whichever QB has an exceptional combine will be heading to Atlanta. Whether it be Brohm, Ryan, Brennan, Henne, Woodson etc.

^ nope. guess who's also looking for a QB...miami. rams shouldn't pass on a QB either judging by their recent injury plagued QB core

Miami seems pretty content on Beck. I think they would go either with McFadden even though they have Ronnie Brown or Jake Long the LT out of Michigan.

I think the Rams will give Bulger one more year after signing him to that huge deal. They'll give him one more to see if with a healthy Orlando Pace and Steven Jackson if he can put up the numbers he did a few years ago.

ya i didn't really think they would draft a QB but they were pretty much ****ed by their QBs this year so i wouldn't blame them if they did

also MIAMI WINS :(:(:(:(

Damn it every bloody time I see football in a thread and go "awesome a footy thread! finally" and its American Football. Ah well. Except for constant stoppages and stupid half time shows its a fun game to watch.

Whos the best team in NFL anyway?

Usually that can be debated but this year it is clearly the New England Patriots. They play in Foxboro, Massachusetts about 40 miles away from me :D and are 14-0 out of a 16 game regular season schedule.

yeah since i'm an american i think it would be safe to assume that i'm talking about american football

and the pats are the clear cut #1. in case you dont' understand much, in the nfl there has only been one football team to have a "perfect" season and that was over 30 years ago. the patriots are well on their way to having a 16-0 season and are very heavily favored to win it all this year, but in the nfl anything can happen in the playoffs so we'll see in january/february if the pats can go all the way

Actually there's more than the Dolphins.

48 Browns did it before becoming part of the NFL in the AAFC:
http://www.profootballhof.com/history/decades/1940s/undefeated.jsp

34 and 42 Bears had undefeated regular seasons but losing in the championship
http://www.profootballhof.com/history/release.jsp?release_id=1879

and

The 1929 Packers (though they did have a tie and not everyone played the same ammount of games)

didn't i saw "perfect" season meaning they have to like actually win the championship and stuff unlike the two bears teams you mentioned

and in 1929 the nfl as we know it didn't exist obviously

At least we won't be sweating over getting into the playoffs, in fact, we could lose the rest of our games if we felt like it. The Texans however, are a different story.

Tougher conference, really? Well it doesn't matter since we've beaten so many asses outside of our conference too.

battle_axe_of_doom
12-16-2007, 11:42 AM

also texans beat the cowboys in the governors cup game this season

My team is the Panthers, and they won a game (hooray), though I also like the Giants (who says you can only like one team?).

For those that care, I started watching football in the early 90's, and followed the Bills and Giants, because I'm from NY. Then with the expansion, I dropped the Bills (because they sucked) and took up following the Panthers, so I could say I've followed the team since the very beginning.

Now that that's out of the way, I had to play the #1 seed in my fantasy football playoffs, and he has Brady/Moss, who have combined to destroy teams week in and week out. Luckily this week I avoided their assault, and might actually move on to the finals. Go me. I have a 19 point lead, with Cooley and Burress still playing. He has Sidney Rice and the Vikings kicker going tomorrow. I think I should be safe, because we have a relatively low-scoring point-system for our league (50-60 points is about average, 80 points is a really good week, for a team).
