So, yeah. When I have some downtime at work, I love checking out the forums here. It's only too bad some of the videos people have been posting are sometimes on websites blocked here at work.

The problem is when I try to go back to the site at night when I get home, the website refuses to load. It's baffling to me, I don't have any other problems with my computer/Internet connection at home. Just this.

Anyone know what might be happening?

Being that I troubleshoot notebooks all day... I should be able to help. Any other sites you can't log into?

Try disabling firewalls, accept more cookies, delete temp files, reset advanced options in IE... Try using a different browser like firefox too.

Try using a different browser like firefox too.

This could work, however there are some certain sites the won't work on Firefox as well. It's either gonna be a bad link or site error.

I use Firefox on every machine I have the ability to install it on. But yeah... doesn't matter which browser I try at home (or which machine I try at home, for that matter). It behaves like the site is down or doesn't exist.

Try just going to 'www.rockband.com/vbforum/'

Maybe you don't have the right plugins to view the main page.

I've entered every URL I can imagine. www.rockbandgame.com, www.rockband.com, www.rockband.com/vbforum/, and even the link that comes up when you Google "Rock Band."

I'm a web developer so I'm almost positive it's not a missing plugin, like Flash. If I didn't have it, shouldn't I just get a blank page or a message asking me to download Flash?

It's not my computer. This problem is persistent on every machine in my household. I'm tempted to complain to my ISP or something.

What OS are you on, is it 32 or 64 bit, what version of IE, and can you ping the website?

IE7
Firefox 2+ (whatever is most recent)
Windows XP 32 bit

How do I ping the website?

IE7
Firefox 2+ (whatever is most recent)
Windows XP 32 bit

How do I ping the website?

start -> run -> cmd, hit enter

type ping www.rockband.com

It'll show 'Ping statistics for _________" and in the blank is an IP address. Copy that IP down and type it in the address bar, it should directly link you to the page.

Otherwise if you haven't tried it on internet explorer yet i suggest you try that and see if its a firefox problem.

it might be a DNS error.

I can ping rockband.com from one of my DSL lines, but the other DSL line fails to ping.

One line resolves www.rockband.com as 216.235.241.115 (works) where as the other line resolves to 207.190.252.222 which does not work.

So Im guessing that either my ISP has a problem or the guys at RB made some DNS changes and they have not propegated to all Master DNS servers yet.

Keebler, this works on both my DSL lines now, how is it for you?
