My friend cant play on the upper keys (IDK why) and he likes to play on the lower keys.
Now, he plays on the lowers keys for every song WHILE STRUMMING. He dosent use them for solos he uses them for all the songs WHILE STRUMMING.
Will that do any damage to MY guitar?

No. I do that for songs every now and again. It doesn't seem to do any harm at all. They are basically just smaller versions of the bigger buttons.

what?
you mean he's playing it like a normal Guitar Hero guitar?
no high fret hammer-on's?
that's perfectly fine... it doesn't matter where you play.
in fact, i play on the high frets all the time... not just solos.
and my friend only uses the lower frets 'cause he can't get use to how close the top ones are.
yeah man, it's totally fine.

nope, no harm done. one of the loading screens actually suggests this method for children and people with small hands.

I think the OP was using the terms "upper" and "lower" in the normal senses of the words rather than in the technical guitar sense. So by upper keys he meant the keys that are technically lower on the neck but higher off the ground, so to speak- the ones most people use most of the time when playing the game.

i see what you mean now... by lower i was thinking you meant the bigger ones (i actually play guitar and i thought 'lower notes, lower frets')
but yeah... i play on the smaller frets all the time.

Does it really? Haha. I haven't seen that one yet.

How in the world could this break your guitar? The buttons are there for a reason!! Do people think before they go on the Internet at all?

Why are they named is such a counter-intuitive (for a non guitar player) way? I.e. what exactly is "lower" about the frets that are physically higher off the ground?

Lower = a lower pitch emitted.
Higher = a higher pitch.

ok, now that we got that out of the way, I like to play on the higher frets for some songs, like the Clash, cause strummer played high on the neck a lot,
but I do play mostly on the lower frets

Those buttons are mainly for people with smaller hands/fingers and the solos, it will not do any harm what-so-ever to your guitar unless maybe he strums also during solos, that might confuse those buttons lol.
