You know, the hidden track on Abby Road. It's too short for full price.

Her Majesty? It appears to be full price.

It is really hard to imagine somebody who would be dying to get Her Majesty, but not want to buy the rest of the Abbey Road album. I suppose there could be a couple of indignant folks, but this really should not be an issue.

Master/Slave was full price...
Also, this isn't epic fail. This is Harmonix using the normal formula; Album at a discount and everything available as 2$ singles.

I don't think it's stupid. No one will purposefully buy the track on it's own.

So... if I wanted to buy the entire album, I'd have to pay $1.50/$2.00 more (or whatever) for a 23 second song with no bass or drums? I don't think HMX would that gouging. They aren't Activision, after all. *zing*.

It would suck if it's full price. I have a Wii, which means i'd have to buy her majesty, and i wouldn't even get the melody.

Well, clicking the link to the IGN article...."Her Majesty" is listed. I'm getting the whole thing anyway, and I about jumped out of my chair when I read about the medley. So, I'm not too broken up about the whole 160 M$Ps for the track. I think it's like 12 songs not in the game (unless my math and memory fail me, and they often do) so 1320 is cheaper than 12x160.

Literal hidden tracks don't usually make it into the game.
Endless, Nameless off Nevermind being an example.
I was disappointed about that.

This link also lists in-game songs... so it's hardly saying anything about what will cost us and what will not.
Anyway, I most say I'm sort of disappointing about what HMX does with Abbey Road.
First of all, they are forcing you to buy the ENTIRE album to play the medley, which is annoying. 17$ for 11 songs sounds cool but really, 6 of these songs are under 2 minutes! Basically they're charging full price not only for Her Majesty, but for Mr Mustard and Pam as well. Who would actually play Polythene Pam on it's own?
Actually, you're paying 17$ for only 23 minutes of music = not cool at all.
And lastly, the most important thing for me personally is that I'd really like to play Slumbers+Weight+The End as a mini-medley, a three-part suite. I've always listened to these three in a row in particular, and only seldom listen to the whole second side. And you know there is an actual few seconds break between Bathroom and Slumbers, so it shouldn't be a problem. Paul McCartney played these three songs only in his 1991 world tour. I don't really want to sit through the Money+Sun King+Mustard+Pam+Bathroom before I finally reach it.
I hoped that for 4$ (Slumbers+Weight - The End is already in the game), they'd make that happen... now that would have been really epic and amazing thing from HMX.

I'm not sure why everyone equates track length with value. As far as I know the rights to a song aren't going to change price just because it's only a minute long. HMX is still paying a certain ammount to use the song so that cost is going to be passed on to the customer. The cost to chart the song might be less but I can't see it being so much less that they would change the price.
I guess just don't understand the idea that DLC price should be based on how long the song is. To me it's just not that black and white. It does suck that you have to buy the whole album to get the medley but in the end you're talking about a dollar or two at the most. Anyone who has disposable income to guy the game can find a few dollars laying around somewhere.
I don't know I guess I'm not that big on complaining on priciple alone.

So then why don't they charge per minute? Wait a sec, that'd be ridiculously expensive. Especially since some really fantabulous songs are longer than 6 minutes...Freebird, I Want You (She's So Heavy), I'm Your Captain, Texas Flood, Layla, etc.

I'm not talking generally, but about Abbey Road mainly. The second part is widely seen as a medley and not as single tracks. When was the last time you've played Carry That Weight or Polythene Pam on their own? I just think that since most of them are fragments rather than stand-alone songs, it would have been fair to give a discharge or something...
But really, the medley thing is what bothers me the most. For 4$ only, I'd be able to buy Golden Slumbers and Carry that Weight, but not able to play tham as a medley! And no matter how much I pay, I'd never be able to play my favorite 3-song suite on it's own.

While I hope their discography gets released, there are a bunch of tracks on With the Beatles I wouldn't buy. Doesn't make me any less of a Beatles fan.

This. I won't get songs I don't like just "to be a real fan".
Anyway, as for the OP, maybe he meant the ending of Pepper? "Never could be any other way"? my guess is, it's not going to be included.

So then, because Abbey Road is such an iconic album with a series of songs that is meant to be played as a medley, that's a reason why they should charge per minute of music for that album and only that album? Still doesn't make much sense. Why give it special pricing treatment? Why not just charge per minute for every song? Heck, why not charge per second for every song?

It's not meant to be taken logically, I'm not measuring the songs by their length. I Saw Her Standing There is short too, but it's full worth the 2$, it's a full standalone song. I just don't feel Mean Mr Mustard, Polythene Pam, Her Majesty and Sun King are worthy of 2$ each. Normally I wouldn't buy them, but HMX is kind of forcing me to - If I don't buy the whole album, I won't be able to play Slumbers-Weight-End.
Maybe that's my problem, I just hate the fact that I have to buy everything, even songs I wouldn't normally buy, In order to play one of my favorite songs ever (And in my mind, Slumbers-->The End are one song), and even then, I'll have to get through the entire medley whenever I want to play it.

I'm not sure why everyone equates track length with value.
Because it's an issue of entertainment value for your dollar. You wouldn't pay as much for one CD as you would for an 8-CD boxed set, would you? You wouldn't pay $10 to see a half-hour long movie at the theatre... and you wouldn't pay $6 for a junior cheeseburger, you'd want the meal. Assuming quality is consistent, the more you pay, the more you expect to get.
$2 for a 23-second song works out to $313 an hour... no, it's not worth it to spend $2 on a song that's shorter than a Mike Tyson pay-per-view fight.
