Would a cheap homemade drum pedal reinforcement like taping some paint stir sticks to the top of the pedal really do much to help? I'm looking for the easiest way to reinforce it without having to pay (at all lol) and not void warranty

i've heard of people using the flat butter knives taped across the bottom. Seems like it would work, just simple mechanics of having something reinforced makes it better but i dunno cause i havent done it

If you can't afford $20 to buy a reinforcement pedal on ebay I feel sorry for you.
Just save $20 and fix it right the first time, and the only time.

I'd rather have it work fine and not pay $20. Sounds like a good deal to me
Edit: I'm also looking for something not as "tacky" as a butterknife lol

At my local lowes and home depot in the plumbing section they have flat metal stock... Im sure using that with some rubber cement or gorilla glue would work... mine hasnt broke but I might try that out and let you know... its only like $7 and its a rather large piece so if any one you know has it you can split the cost.

Nobody should spend a penny reinforcing anything. Its not our responsibility to do EA's job for them. Play as much as you want and when it breaks send it back to EA.
Keep doing it until they introduce a new pedal design.

This is the way to get the problem truly fixed. It just sucks not have drums while waiting for a replacement. At least while waiting for a new guitar I could still use my X-plorer controller. If (or when) my pedal breaks I'll be sending it back for new one.

Amen. the problem needs to be fixed in manufacturing, not by the end users on a case-by-case basis.

I think adding a metal plate to the top of the pedal isn't going to fix the issue anyways. Sure, it won't break at the top, but you are now adding weight to it. Look between the pedal you step on and the base of the bedal. It's orange and PLASTIC. Adding weight to it just means you are adding more stress to that plastic part everytime you step on it. It's going to break. Redesign does sound like the only way (unless you are going to replace all the plastic parts with metal).
