PS3: CoD4 or UT 3?

Instead of studying for my final final, I was thinking about buying a new game. I got my money back that I had put down on a second RB pre-order that I kind of forgot about it, so now it's like I've come across free money, and feel ready to put it toward a new game.

I've narrowed it down to Unreal Tournament 3, and Call of Duty 4. I considered Assassin's Creed, but I think I may just end up renting that.

So anyhow, anyone that has played one or both of the games, particularly the PS3 versions, can you make any recommendations?

If it helps, I've played the single-player mode of CoD3, and it was pretty fun (though I like WWII, and I know 4 is modern-day), and I've never played any of the UT games.

havent played UT3, but COD4 is game of the year without a doubt so get COD4

I'd go with CoD4. It has a great single player to go with a great multiplayer. UT3 while it's great multiplayer is the staple of the franchise the single player isn't anything to write home about.

As far as visuals go, both are really top notch. But I think you'd get more bang for your buck with CoD4.

I own neither but I'd sway toward UT3 mainly cause of mods.

Well with Activision being braindead I'd probably pick up UT3 because it's apparently more of a throwback to UT99 vs. UT 2003/UT 2004. :3

CoD4 has some great single-player hands down and the multiplayer is fun from what little I've played, but I loves me some UT CTF.

I hate Activision with passion for doing putting a stupid block on the PS3 patch, but guess what?? I got a good deal on Amazon for COD4 and bought it because it is in fact the game of the year. Another game that I recently got cause I like it and it was on sale at BestBuy was Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It is just the best Ninja game ever!

I heard about the $39.99 deal for CoD4 that Amazon had on Friday (I think). It's over now, but they've still got it for $44.99, so I'm still tempted.

Flip a coin. Can't go wrong either way. If how long it lasts is an issue UT 3 would be better because of the mods.

I need my keyboard mouse set up. Did UT3 end up having keyboard/mouse support on ps3? if so, i'd go with that.

CoD4 is definitely the better game though, I have it on the PC and its great, especially the mulitplayer.

Yes, UT3 has Keyboard and Mouse support, which for me, makes it the only really viable FPS on any console.

I can only speak for CoD4, and let me tell ya, the game is perfect almost in everyway. You are garanteed loads of fun if you get this game. When I am not playing RockBand, I'm playing CoD4 nuff said.:cool:

I never really was a big fan of UT. COD4 is the best war/fps game out today. My opinion anyway. COD has got a pretty solid multiplayer, nothing crazy, but solid. The missions are great. Story, I thought, was incredible.

Everything in this game made me pick it up, and I'm not a shooter fan at all.
