I personally dislike I Get By and Gimme Shelter. I wouldn't say they're terrible songs, they just don't sound great to me compared to the rest.

Just cause I had to play them around 1,000 times in BWT.

Fallout boy has some of the catchiest, and also deep lyrics out there. Now, this example is not so deep, but it still has some word play, and it is true about songs and how you hate them at first then they grow on you.

also, you need to look at the whole song when talking about lyrics, any lyric might look ******ed taken in a vacuum.

Songs like This aint a scene... and others have great hooks, and there is lots of irony, word play, and other good stuff.

"I am an arms dealer, fixing you with weapons in the form of words."

Another band that has great lyrics is Incubus. Same vein, just different style

I hate the Ballroom Blitz song. Every version ever made, I hate it so much

I don't think there are any songs that I really dislike, but I hate Radiohead, and therefore I don't like "Creep" very much.

You really can't judge a song by lyrics. Some good songs have terrible lyrics.

I don't like I Get By either. I liked Hey and Soy Bomb, but I Get By just doesn't do it for me. Maps is the only other song I don't like that's in the game. The song list is amazing.

I hate maps just because, well I find it ***. Ballroom Blitz is right up there on the list of my least favorite songs. Green Grass or High Tides is my least favorite to play. Just too long, I like the song though.

I know this is going to go against pretty much everybody here, but I actually LIKE Dead on Arrival, just for the reason that it is fun as anything to do their vocals (or maybe I'm, just naturally good at it). And NO, I'm not some whiney 12 year old kid who goes:

I forgot what it was called but I know it's the longest song in the game. I think its called Green Grass and High Tides by the Outlaws.

It has a good Solo, but its gets tiring playing it in Drums. It took a while before I was able to finish the song on Medium. I think about 4 tries.

Sell Out Boy should take their shallow pieces of emo trash out of the game. Mistaking dark nonsense for deep meaning is a grave mistake people like Fall Out Boy thrive on and make shameless millions off of. Don't buy into it, and the music just sucks anyways. By far the worst thing in the game.

A tarnish in an otherwise great song list.

Even though I loved them in the Guitar Hero games, I'd actually have to say that most of the bonus songs are pretty bad this time round. Stuff like Pleasure (Pleasure) is good, but most of the bonus songs are horrible. My least favorite song would definitely have to be one of them...not sure which off the top of my head, though.

Maps, it was alright at first but after every girl at the dorms had to sing it at least 5 times each it lost it's finesse

Quoted. For. Truth. And this happened the first day too. I was like "I want to play the other songs on the game..." and another girl would pass by "HEY! I heard 'Maps' was on this game! Can I sing it?" *Sigh*...at least that's over with...I think. :P

Anyways, my least favorite is "Sabotage" -- I hate "singing" it, the guitar part gets on my nerves, and the drums (While not horrible) are really boring to play so meh...

DasKonstruct
12-17-2007, 02:12 AM
Green Grass is incredibly repetitive and just WAY too long. I sit there bored out of my mind while playing it on guitar. On drums I just want to shoot myself its so damn boring.

I guess I'm in the small minority who likes Maps. Although the Fall Out Boy song leaves me feeling pretty empty as a song, it's okay to play. I also really enjoy guitar and bass on Green Grass and High Tides.

The one song I can't stand is "Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria. For me it's utterly annoying, pretentious, operatic-metal trash. Whenever I'm forced to sing the lines of this turgid ballad I want to simultaneously laugh out loud and vomit in my mouth.

"Please make up your mind girl, before I hope you die" is particularly nauseating.

Perhaps if you knew the storyline it would be more interesting, as their lyrics do tell the stories of their comic books. Food for thought.

It's possible, but I seriously doubt it. Neither the lyrical content, the musical style nor the vocal delivery would tempt me to investigate further. The comic books might be fun in their own right but I could definitely survive without ever having to hear that song again. ;)

That's a satisfied customer right there. :) Yeah, I actively like about 90% of the setlist, tolerate most of the rest (eg. "Dead on Arrival" and "Tommy...") and kind of really dislike only a couple ("Welcome Home" and "Bite the Hand...").

Easily the worst song is 'I Get By'. I believe it's supposed to sound bad, kinda in a sarcastic kind of way, almost as a joke song...but it does not work. It sounds like the fist practice session of an all-cat garage band.
Oddly enough, my 2nd least favorite song is the theme song for Rock Band 'Highway Star'...which just sounds like a reject rock song, maybe a song made by someone who doesn't know anything about rock music. You know, like when an older person tries to mimic a rap song and it makes you cringe a bit.

Otherwise I am completely happy with the songs :) .

Those lyrics aren't that bad. You're just hating for no good reason. Seriously, have you read the lyrics to most songs out there? Terrible. Even one of the greatest rock bands of all time had horrible, horrible lyrics: Led Zeppelin.

It seems to me that everyone hates emo, and so they hate that song because it's inappropriately labeled emo (it's not an emo song btw).

Worst song in the game is Detroit Rock City. Worst DLC is Sick, Sick, Sick; I am sick, sick, sick of that song. I like QotSA, and I got the song pack because I like the other songs on it, but never heard Sick, Sick, Sick. Ugh, is there some way to delete it?

the funny thing about all the FOB bashing is DOA was from before they were a big deal, i would say it's almost a weird choice as (to the best of my knowledged and i listen to hardly any radio) the song didn't get any radio play. This is before the memebers were household names and on ads for the top 40 station on the sides of buses (local thing). It's a fun song though, people care so much about posturing that they forget to have fun. I get accused of that all the time though. There are worse things out there than fall out boy.

I don't want to say i really dislike any of the songs but the BWT setup makes it so repetitive on all the songs.

Had to be there I guess. I think I would hate Epic too if I wasn't into Faith No More when that song became popular. I was a fan of Faith No More before they kicked the singer and got Mike Patton. At first I was upset about the change, but I got into the new Faith No More. For those who don't know, they used to sound kinda like the Ramones with more of a metal twist. I had listened to the album with Epic many times before I ever heard Epic on the radio. As seems to be the norm with most radio music, I don't know why Epic became popular over the rest of the album, which was far better.

I've always hated it, before the rock band days that is, but now that I've listened to the lyrics closer, I hate it even more. What a dumb-ass song! Orange Crush kinda fits into that category too.

Honest Bob is terrible? Ughh ...

Honest Bob is fun because it is not self indulgent crap pretending to be important and deep when it is not. Think of bands like Mojo Nixon and the Dead Milkmen; fun stuff to enjoy and laugh with. (If you like the Honest Bob song, I suggest both of these bands). I am not a huge fan of this style of music, but it is enjoyable enough.

Some other music is tripe (FOB cough cough) and would be fun if you didn't have to think about the 13 year old fan boys who think that their music is deep and meaningful.

Rant over.

I can't say I HATE any song on RB. I'm the type of guy who, even if I don't fall in love with a song, will appreciate the effort that was put in to accommodate a wide range of rock tastes (from The Outlaws to Nine Inch Nails). It's made me discover new songs and bands (The New Pornographers, Coheed and Cambria), and it's allowed me to live out the rockstar fantasies from my youth (Wanted Dead or Alive, Epic).

Two songs can dampen my enthusiasm, though: Black Hole Sun and The Hand That Feeds. Especially for singing.
