I put the disk in and started playing, never took the disk out till after the 3rd song when I got the message that it could not read the disk. I looked at the disc and it had a big circular sratch on it. What the H#$*. I looked at 5 other disks that get used all the time and there are no scratches anywhere. Is this the quality that we should expect?
Anyone else have a similar problem?

This problem has only appeared, so far, in your game.

Lucky you: you're covered under warranty!
Before you play any other games though, make sure your 360 is sitting stable on whatever it is on. If it's resting on a cord or something, the momentum of the spinning disc (or your own misdirected enthusiasm) can nudge the console, which unbalances the disc and causes that circle-scratch you got.

Just take your disc back to the store, most of the time they're nice about it and will give you another (if you have a receipt). and take advice from hawkofva.

Yeah, I agree with the above posters- you should get a new copy from the store you bought it from. It's weird, I've heard a lot of similar stories about 360s and disc scratches, overheating, etc. Which is why I prefer PS3 or Wii ;).

OUCH! Damn that sucks. I would just go to where ever I bought it and tell them the situation (maks sure to bring your receipt).

One of the reasons I buy all my cross platforms on PS3 :) After loosing a GTA IV disc and a Guitar Hero 2 disc to my last 360, never ever again.
I assure you that it's nearly impossible for a disc to 'spontaneously scratch' if there is nothing physically touching the data portions of the disc itself (i.e. when it's spinning).
That being said, if the disc has a defect in it, then please either contact EA for a replacement or return it your store.
