I played I Me Mine last night (as well as the rest of the songs on the game!) and noticed that it didn't have all of the strings and whatnot from the original Let it Be version.

I don't know about you, but I prefer the naked version anyway so this was a very pleasant surprise.

I don't have the game yet, but being a huge George fan I checked out all his songs on youtube, and I was disappointed to see that I Me Mine did not have the strings. I guess this makes a little bit more sense given the fact that the song is performed on the rooftop setting, but I prefer the original Let it Be version.
Then again, I seem to be one of the few who really enjoys the overblown production on that record.

Possible, but I think Spector was credited for I Me Mine in the Credits. Not positive though.

I'm pretty sure in the credits I saw Phil Spector being credited for the "Let It Be" songs.

Have we compared it against the Remastered I Me Mine? Perhaps the strings have been toned down? I did notice a difference, but I chalked it up to remastering.

It sounded like the horns were still there but the strings were either removed or turned down very low. I'm not sure what the Naked version sounds like, I've never listened to it. And this is an observation made from a youtube vid so it's probably not entirely accurate anyways

I think they just changed the volume of the orchestra, just as the guitar is louder on Good Morning, Good Morning.

I think they reduced it a bit too much, but it is not really a big problem, hopefully the remasters will still have the same volume (does anyone know?).

The remaster sounds pretty similar to me, so far as the mix on the orchestra goes.

I think those YouTube videos are fake, they do not sound like the Amazon clips (and I'm not thinking about the quality)

I would tend to think they went with the "...Naked" version of Let it Be.

At least I hope they did. I really enjoyed the Naked disc more than I ever did the original and now Let it Be is one of my favorite albums where before it wasn't in my top 5.

So here's to wishful thinking!

Hope not, they still use the original cover art and such, it is called Let It Be in the game. I think it is pretty strange how much they lowered the volume on the orchestra on this song (yes, I think I can still hear it), when in other songs you are actually playing the orchestra!

Well it sounds like they did some changes in this master, and if it's still technically "Let it Be" then maybe it's that with some changes that don't quite get it all the way to "Let it Be...Naked"

I really have only played it once so I'll have to give it a better listen to ascertain better the difference between Let it Be, Let it be...naked...and this.

The Let It Be Naked version is shorter I believe

Played it again today and I really do not hear the strings at all. I prefer it this way, the strings overly dramatize the track anyway.

Should it ever come to it, I really hope we also get the naked versions of Long & Winding Road and Across The Universe. The strings on those songs really send them soaring and make them universal anthems about love and life, but they are possibly two of the most grounded, personal songs they wrote during their entire stint. Certainly for the former, since Paul always seemed to hide any real emotions in the most oblique way possible even though his vocals make him sound like he's f***ing dying.

But for John, too. He literally wrote a song out of his mantra.

Couldn't agree more. Naked wins for me.

I know a guy who comes into work that said he will get me the "Get Back" sessions of that record, which were used in the Naked release. I personally don't think Spector's "Wall of Sound" was appropriate to The Beatles' work. Save it for Motown girl groups.
