This last week has been very tough on my family. My mother is 59 years old, and has been suffering from Alzheimer's for about 4 years. On 9/02 she had a seizure, and was rushed to the hospital. Her doctor told my wife and I that she would no longer be able to live outside of a professional care facility. We made arrangements to transfer her to a nursing home nearby our house. This turned out to be one of the most depressing processes I've ever undergone. My mother was the youngest person in the facility, by at least 20 years. I couldn't imagine any way in which my mom would be comfortable in this environment. I was a wreck - not sleeping, not able to focus at my job, the whole enchilada...
On 9/09, I made the decision to pick up my reserved copy of Beatles: Rock Band, simply because I was near the store. I set the box in our game room, and my wife walked in and started assembling the drum kit. Within a few minutes, we were drumming, playing guitar, and singing classic harmonies. It was amazing! This was the first moment in at least a week in which we had any JOY in our day. We played every song, up until partway through the Abbey Road selections, and then quit from exhaustion...
On 9/10, we found a much better arrangement for my mom. She will be moving away from the nursing home into an assisted living facility that looks more like a resort hotel. We both feel much happier for her, and while we may have found the new facility regardless - the search was much easier after the first good night of sleep in a week! Things are starting to look up.
To all involved in the making of this wonderful game... THANK YOU!

Love to read stories like that, I never get tired of reading the happines of other people.
This game seems to have brought genuine happiness to a great many people--not just as a video game, but as an actual, multi-faceted experience.
