What's with the changing band mates?

It seems that every few songs I have a new bassist, singer, drummer, something!

What's up with that?
Trying to be like a realistic band? O_O

the game loads random band members to fill in the positions not taken by created characters.

I assume it does this because it's a lot more interesting than having one single model for each instrument.

Though personally, (on solo tour), I've only noticed the band members changing based on two things:

1) I log out
2) The singer's gender will match the song track's singer's gender.

I think for 1) it's when you exit back out of the solo tour to the main menu. Does it randomize a new selection then when you go back in?

I'll be in the solo and it will do it every few songs even though im still constantly playing
