View Full Version : Has anyone had problems with their bass drum plug? (and other replacement woes)

My initial set of drums took a crap a bit ago (blue pad's plug inside of the drum somehow got broken almost all the way off the circuit board), so I ordered a replacement set under warranty. They came on Friday and on Saturday morning I set them up and tried to play. I immediately failed out and it took me a second to figure the bass drums wasn't working.

I messed around with the stupid thing for awhile and if I have the plug pulled out a bit and have it at a certain angle, then it will work fine. Obviously the problem is it gets rattled out of place in about 5 seconds. I tried various ways of taping it down and sometimes could get it to work fine for a song or two, but it would eventually stop working. This is ridiculous.

So now I get to put yet another $125 hold on my credit card to send out for a second replacement. Not to mention I also had to replace my guitar when the strum bar stopped working and that hold hasn't gone off my card yet either. That means I will have a magnificent $375 hold on my card right in time for the holidays. Thanks EA and Harmonix!!

I should add that I tried the bass pedal again on my old drums to make sure it wasn't the pedal itself, and it's definitely the plug on the new set.

I had the same problem. My bass pedal worked, then I had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in it never worked again. I swapped out my drum kit and used the same pedal and it worked fined (and still works). Definitely an issue with the plug.

check out my thread awhile back - had the same problem - drums worked - pedal did not - they sent a new pedal - still didnt work - sent a new drum kit - pedals worked fine -

problem is not the pedal but the connection from the pedal to the main kit.

Yup, I figured that out. I just thought it was odd that I didn't see anyone else with the same problem. I've already rma'd the 2nd set of pads. Hopefully 3rd will be the charm.
