Hi everyone-

I'm new to the Rock Band world, thanks to the Beatles. I have a quick question that I can't answer because I'm currently at work and can't try this out till I get home late tonight: can I download other Rock Band songs on my Beatles game? Or do I need to own a different version of the game?

Not sure if it matters, but I have the PS3 version.
Thanks!

Nope, the Beatles RB is its own little fiefdom. Regular RB DLC only works with the other RB games.

I'm still not totally sure what most of those initials mean, but thanks for replying :)

Guess Im gonna go have to spend another 50 bucks on another Rock Band game, just to download the No Doubt catalogue. lol

DLC? Downloadable content. Rock Band has an extensive list of DLC. The Beatles: Rock Band (aka TB:RB) will only have DLC compatible to its game. You can't play regular Rock Band DLC in the Beatles game and vice versa.

Hope that helps!

you'll probably find a lot more to enjoy in addition to no doubt. it's nice that the beatles game is inspiring people to check out the rock band franchise.

i definitely recommend picking up a copy of rb2.

I'd reccomend buying Rock Band 2 and Renting Rock Band 1 to export the songs to your Hard Drive.

Haha, sorry. After seeing everything abbreviated so much on these boards, I just kinda take it for granted now, lol.

It's fifty bucks well spent. I'm fairly new to RB2 (bought it while waiting for the Beatles), and now wonder why I didn't buy it the day it came out. It's a blast. Spend some time creating a fictional little band you can have fun playing as, start career mode, and you'll be hooked. The songs available for download cover a huge spectrum of tastes, and it just keeps growing and getting better.

Can't speak for the Wii but for the 360 you can just import them for $5.

Hey guys, thanks for all the friendly replies. I was afraid of getting attacked for being the newbie. lol

So, even before I read all your replies, I gave in and went to Best Buy last night and bought Rock Band 2. I had played it before at a friend's house, but now I can truly appreciate it. lol Too bad I don't know 98% of the songs on the RB2 disc.

So, does this exporting of songs from RB1 apply to the Playstation 3 as well?? How do I do it? I will totally go to Blockbuster tonight. lol

Edit: I also bought the John Lennon Rickenbacker controller, so that everybody can play. I had a Rock Band party last night at my place and none of us can talk today from all the singing. My neighbors officially hate me now, too.
