Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, but does anyone know if they have a solid release date for the Rock Band Bundle for PS2?
Thanks in advance...

I just checked the Best Buy site and they now have a Dec 19th release date on their website for the ps2 bundle. WTF? My buddy took the plunge last night and bought the ps3 bundle and the ps2 game seperately. When I spoke with him last night, he said everything worked perfectly. I think that's my plan of attack at this point.

From the News page at Harmonix:
As previously announced, Rock Band is slated for release on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system on December 18, 2007 in North America. Rock Band will ship in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation 2 console in the first quarter of 2008.
ETA: Beaten again while I was looking up the information, gathering links.

Don't quote me on this, but it seems fairly routine for "the big box stores" to release the games a day or two after their "street dates"

You know, other than the press release in the link Huskie just posted, this is the first official confirmation I've seen the bundle is still shipping on the 18th. Since many retailers are saying the 28th, I've wondered if it had been pushed back further, or if they just weren't getting any supply/didn't want to dedicate precious pre-christmas inventory space to it.

And all I had to do was ask. I was suprised to get an email back so quickly. I'm going to swing by Walmart on the way home and see if they are expecting a shipment tomorrow.

I talked to an employee at Walmart yesterday who seemed somewhat knowledgable (surprise, I know) about the games department and he had no idea when it was coming in. He didn't seem optimistic about this week and mentioned he had heard rumors of a delay (probably for just walmart). Hopefully you'll have better luck, but seeing how walmart is pretty slow about new releases unless they get them in advance of the release date, they'll probably be one of the last stores to get them out. I could easily be wrong though.

Yeah. I just pass by a Walmart on my way to work and I get out pretty early so I figured if by chance they were in I'd be in good shape.

Hmm...I'm starting to think my local Target could be in a bit of trouble.
Oh well, mine is already safe at home. They can't have it back! ;)

Just called the 4 targets within driving distance from me, 3 of them didn't have it. One claimed to have sold out of them yesterday (sunday), but I think the person I was talking to was thinking of the playstation 3 version. Maybe. It's certainly not easy to specify to someone the exact version of a product you want when there are 6 possible versions of it they can have in the store :P.

December 17, 2007 - Today Harmonix announced it has shipped the PlayStation 2 version of Rock Band to retail. The bundle will be available tomorrow, December 18.
The PS2 edition of Rock Band was developed in collaboration with Pi Studios, which previously helped out with the Call of Duty, Mercenaries, and Halo series. The Special Edition bundle includes the full 58-song track list of the current-gen versions, drum kit, microphone, and a wireless guitar controller.
"Our team was honored to work side by side with Harmonix to create Rock Band for the PlayStation 2 and extremely proud of the result," stated Robert Erwin, CEO of Pi Studios. "Together, we were able to deliver the addictive nature and brilliance of the core Rock Band gameplay while giving PS2 owners the ultimate rock experience just in time for the holidays."

When I saw it there I called my local Best Buy (I wanted to put it on my charge card there) and they said it wasn't out yet. I didn't want my wife to know about it (it's a surprise from "Santa" to her, really) so I opened up a Target card, bought it, and got 10% off at the same time. I'm pretty pleased with myself, and she's really going to be surprised.
I called my local Target and they said they don't have it either. I hope I can find one tomorrow. If not, it'll be the PS3 Bundle and the PS2 game
