We're getting Metallica's new album. Date TBA. Same with the Nirvana album.

P.S. www.google.com is awesome. So is the forum search function. Learn to use both of them kthxbye.

You aren't missing anything. The official press release said that they planned on releasing Full Album downloads to include "an undetermined Metallica album" Nirvana's Nevermind, and uh.. that one Who album that I can't remember right now.
They said the dates were to be determined.

I'm sure they'll let us know if anything changes.

Really? I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere. We're getting 'A' metallica album which to my knowledge hasn't been announced yet, and getting 'A' new track from the new album. Thats was what I read anyway.

Guess it's just a single off their new album. I could have swore I read that it was the whole album somewhere...

Either way, a full Metallica album will be sweet! Possibly a bit tiring on the drums to play the whole album in one go!!!

I keep hearing people reference "Who's Next" as the Who album for release. Sorry, can't validate that.

P.S. Don't sweat the sarcasm. Some people will say anything to get the chance to use "kthxbye" in a post.

I am more worried about the price of the albums than which ones....

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess $14.99.

3-packs are $5.49. Multiply by three (average album is probably 10 songs) and then reduce the price a further fifty cents per 3-pack group (already reduced from single downloads).

maybe the will decide to be nice and offer them for $9.99 ala iTunes....fingers crossed

Master of Puppets FTW!! I would probably pay $20-25 just for this one.

we are getting a new Metallica Single... 'One' is supposed to be coming, and I've even heard rumors of an Album, which I would guess is Master of Puppets judging by none of the songs being from mop in the previous download pack.

We are also getting 'Who's Next' by The Who, 'Nevermind' by Nirvana, and 18 grateful dead songs.

as for prices, I'm not sure but I'd go for 15 for the new full albums, but for Who's Next and Nevermind I expect 12/13$ considering we have a song from each album already.

The ONLY confirmed album is Who's Next. All others are unconfirmed. Got that directly from the Harmonix PR rep.

Still waiting on the damn thing with ZERO word on when we're getting it. They said "at launch". At launch of what.. the next shuttle?

I wonder when they are going to get back to us on this issue?

It's really the only thing I have questions about. That and if voice chat and such will be added to the ps3.

There are plenty of questions to go aroumd. Sean and Johnlok's actions have made it clear that when answers are available to give, they will be right up there giving them. Until then, await patiently, and download what's available that you want... That's the best advice.

From the other thread on this same subject, on the front page:

There is no announced schedule for downloadable content past this current week. As stated in the past, there is a commitment to continuing DLC as much as possible. Please watch the annoucements forum and other official channels for further schedule information as it is released.

I urge patience. At less than a month into launch, we're already at 85 tracks (45 main setlist, 13 bonus, and 27 downloads), which is quite a feat in itself. Let's see a week or two pass without new content before we get the torches and pitchforks.

This is also mentioned in the new user FAQ sticky on this page, etc.

We have got our 3 songs a week, and it has been accurate with the list I have seen all over the internet.

But the list ends this friday.

So...what next?

do we get a special DLC gift for Christmas?
Maybe an album?

Any news on this?
or a new DLC list?

ahh. quick response from you and a mod, nice

But, as I addressed and this thread OP didnt... I care about the albums... but the DLC at a whole seems to be coming to an end.... unless a christmas surprise is coming.

and based on the quick mod response, i hope that is a silent yes.

If you're willing to assume that just because they haven't announced anything further, the DLC is coming to an end, then there's nothing that can be said which is really going to satisfy you or sway you from that train of thought. HMX has shown a commitment to the DLC and there's nothing to indicate that they will not continue to provide that going forward--except for a natural inclination towards negativity or doubt. Just because they haven't made big announcements means nothing.

I'd rather have the quality of DLC we've been receiving, with no announcements, than what GH3 is seeing with announcements...

Oh no, i didnt mean an end to DLC all together (sorry if I wrote poorly)
I just meant, the list ends a few days before christmas.
It would make sense to me to have new DLC around or on x-mas day.
big bucks ya know?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they planned on charging $20 for a DLC album.

I really don't want to see a new album every week. Apart from being expensive and stuff getting lost in the shuffle, the quality would be terrible (poor recordings, mixing, note charts and testing) unless Harmonix hired 200 people just to do DLC.
