So like most of you, I was wondering how the Beatles DLC is going to work... so I wrote down this little list of how I think/hope it might work. I put little 6/7-packs between the officially announced albums, although I don't really expect that to happen. I used fridays for the date because it's convenient, and that's when DLC is announced. I invented dates for Rubber Soul & Pepper. I didn't include the entire discography, but most of it - left some early tracks out.

Here it is:

Would love it. It would be a great surprise to get some singles mixed in, maybe also some of the Past Masters and Love stuff.

I figure all these songs will make it into the game, but they'll spread it out over the next couple years so people can afford it.

Possibly. My schedule is probably too tight, I have no real idea how many time do they need to chart and create proper dreamscapes.

I didn't see I've Just Seen a Face in there, but other than that you have my approval.

I've Just Seen A Face would be in the HELP! pack.

I don't think we'll see a "couple of years" worth of Beatles DLC. There just isn't enough of it to stretch it out that long. They could knock out the work on the tracks in the near term and just dish 'em out really slowly, but if you let it go too long, many people will have moved on to another game and you'll lose DLC sales. Since there isn't an infinite amount of DLC available like in RB 1-2, the game could probably be supported with DLC for as long as a year, and that would be a very reasonable amount of time to stretch out Beatles DLC. Nine months might be even better for maintaining maximum attention on the DLC for the game and reaching the max audience still playing it.

It's there, in the Help! 12-pack.

The song I dropped are mainly from the first three albums. Help, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Pepper, MMT and Abbey Road are there in their eternity. Let it Be lacks "Maggie Me" and "Dig It", but the rest of it is there. The White Album Lacks "Revolution 9" "Julia" "Revolution 1" "Wild Honey Pie" and "Good Night".

I don't know. This game wasn't meant to be a temporary container for content like RB and RB2. (Not that those games aren't good on their own, but if you think about it, the platform model kind of makes these games expendable as new versions are released.) It was made to last, and I can't imagine selling it or giving it away. As long as people want new Beatles songs, they'll come back to this game. And, it's highly unlikely they'll do a sequel, at least not until the next console generation.

Since they released 12 albums, I think they might just continue to do one per month, and throw in any non-album tracks here and there, so they'd finish in a year. However, the White Album might be split into two as some people are speculating.

My guess is that by September 2010, all Beatles DLC will be finished.

I would be happy with that. Though I wouldn't mind buying Love and Let It Be...Naked.

It would be awesome if the catalog could be purchased on disc. That way if I replace my system or my hard drive crashes I won't lose what could be a substantial investment. I wonder if they are considering this (as many Beatles fans will want them ALL and this type of comphrensive catalog release has never been done before).
