I'm using a PS3 behind a Netgear router. I'm able to access Rock Central database, upload/download scores, install and use DLC and play on-line multiplayer using 'Find players' option. So general network functionality, and RB specific network functionality are good. However, whenever I try to invite in a friend(who has all the same functionality I do), invite is sent, received, accepted and then fails up with an "Unable to connect to session" error message. Happens both ways(either him inviting or me). When we pulled the routers out of the loop(both his and mine), we were able to invite and play both directions. So, obviously, there is an issue with the routers not passing some specific traffic. UPnP is enabled, NAT type is listed as 2. We've both got the common PSN ports enabled for forwarding as well(TCP 80, 443, 5223; UDP 3478, 3479, 3658; TCP/UDP 10060-10070). Yes, UPnP *should* pick this stuff up, but obviously it's still missing something. Is there some other port that Rock Band is trying to use for "Invite Friends" sessions *only*, that UPnP isn't picking up? Or is there some other issue?
