View Full Version : Two lead singers...2 mics?

I just brought Rock Band to a party last Saturday and for some of the 'older' crowd, one of my friends would stand by the person and help them along with the song and lyrics for vocals. If I happen to plug in two microphones into the system, would there be a detrimental effect on the game play? I'm assuming not as only one microphone would be actually scored and the other one would be just for assistance.

Has anybody come across this situation before?

I believe somebody tried this a few weeks ago and it did not work. Only one mic was actually logged in as the singer. The other was ignored.

I've actually found that having two people singing into the same mic is very bad for RB. Unless they're both REALLY good, they're gonna be singing at different pitches, and that confuses the hell outta the RB software, usually resulting in really bad scores :)

a second mic can be used for scorebattle and tug of war modes but that's it.

Thanks! Yeh, the second mic would only be for assistance and to show moral support but wouldn't be needed for actually taking score. One of those party time thoughts I had when observing!

Yeah won't work! You can only hope when Rock Band 2 comes out it will support backup singers and other cool crap. Maybe we'll get some songs with two different singers like a (example: Linkin Park song) where you can get two people to sing each part.

I think you meant PIMP. And that pimp was me.

Wait for Rock Band two. I promise that it will, well it should, be in there.

That would be great! I really hope that they can optimize the lagtime so it at least sounds semi-real time.

Yeh...I suckered myself in buying GH3 banking on the fact that the PS3 patch was going to be released by last saturday. Alas...I suck... ...now it's pretty much a Fischer Price toy. GH3's animations really lags and is likely going to pick up dust on my shelf.

In that picture, they had already tried to pull her off stage twice.

Lol you know a game is good when it can keep that generation interested in playing.

Yeh, I realized how much we take things for granted..even us moderate gamers...here I had to explain exactly when to hit the snare drum,"when this little colored capsule is about to hit the mothership!"

Grandpa is looking at you like "what in the hell are you talking about man?"

I think it's cool you got 3 generations in there. So far I haven't been brave enough to play, I just got it for my kids. I don't have good coordination or a good voice, I would bring the whole band down. :(
