Ok, so yesterday me and my friends played rockband for the first time. Awesome game by the way. After four hours of playing it, I wondered to myself what will happen with my character when i play from home, but under my log in. So far, the band and characters we created were all under , my friends account. So does this mean that i can only play with my character when i log in under his account? If so, im waiting for the day that ps3 lets multiple people log in on these online games from one ps3.
Also, sucks that we accidently made the leader of the band the singer. Theres only one guy that sings in our group. For the rest of us, we just wanna play the guitar or the drums. I think this should be changed as well.....cuz you cant play without the leader of the band . ( But i guess it is our fault for not paying attention to the warning saying "if leader is not playing the band cant continue")

You can't log in multiple people at the same time on the PS3? Are you sure?
On the XBox 360, we've got a bunch of different people with different profilies. My own profile and RB game save is on a memory card I take back and forth between home and office. Today I think we had three different accounts logged in at the same time, just for band quickplay, because we all wanted our own avatars, even though we weren't keeping track of the score.
The way you do it is, each instrument or controller has its own xbox button. Each instrument can log in individually. One person hits the xbox button on their instrument and logs in. Someone else hits the xbox button on another instrument, and it shows them as not logged in, and they can log in on a different profile (or play as a guest of the person who's already logged in).
That is, you can't do it all from one controller, you have to log each person in from a different controller. Have you tried that on the PS3?

well with the ps3 you can definitely transfer data with a usb device of some sort. But as of right now, i havent found a game that lets multiple people sign on at once. I mean, people can sign on but under one main account. for example for me it would say espionage, espionage1 and espionage 2. Basically i just wanna be able to play my guitar and rack up my points when im alone under my own name, or at my friends house while under my account and he plays under his account. Seems like the only way is to meet online? I dunno, i just started playing yesterday so i could be a total n00b and over looking things

PS3 profiles work like windows user accounts, you log in right when the system starts. So if you make a local band, your scores will all be tied to one profile. Save data is also user-specific, and from what I have heared PS3 rock band sava data is set to be copy protected by harmonix. So if you want to play on another system, as with playing other instuments, you will have to make a new character.

That sucks, a lot.
So you mean to tell me that if you played through the "endless setlist" with four people only one of you would get any credit for it?
