if i start a BWT with 2 people can i add onto the players later if i already made their characters and if i start with 4 could i play with 2 or 3 sometimes or do i always have to have the same number i started with

You can re-arrange the configuration any time after band creation (add more, remove, switch, etc). The only important piece is the band leader, which must be present at all times, so be sure to pick a good one and put him on a highly-used instrument.

yeah, the only thing you can't change is the band leader and the instrument he/she plays. and the band leader must always be playing anytime the band plays.

Yep, just gotta have the leader and one more person in any position, using whatever character.

On a side note, how to you make characters officially "join the band"? So that it lists that band under the character's profile?
