Played D2 way too much, lost countless 90+ chars from the closed realms idle policy, and devoted way too many hours using ATMA to change out powerleveling gear to try out odd class combinations. And I still never got a Windforce to drop.

Yeah, I'm 1,000,000,000% excited for D3.

I like the way all the classes are looking, but the Monk did look great. I'm actually anxious to try out the Witch Doctor class. I always had a special place in my heart for the necro of D2. The idea of cursing my own pets and sending them into a group of enemies to explode is way too appealing. :D

The next class will most likely be an amazon/hunter type. It's the one main staple they're missing. I wouldn't even be surprised if they combine some paladin features with the 'zon, and create a bow wielding, aura creating pack of dynamite.

I'm most excited for the Wizard though, loved my Sorc in D2.

No, WoW was not Diablo 3.

Diablo is about the loot, WoW is about as far away from delicious loot as possible.

The closest MMO to Diablo is Asheron's Call where the loot *IS MORE* open than Diablo. Not bad for a game that came out in 1999, shame that no MMO has attempted it in the years since.

Basically, WoW is also way more lenient with character creation.

Anyone remember the patch when paladins could walk around dealing thousands of points of damage from their freaking AURA?! That's when I quit the game. After making him and never losing a pvp match ever again.

I sunk so much time into D2 I can't wait for this.

I've held off on building a new PC closer to release cause I want to run it full on. :D

As with most Blizzard games, D3 will be released "when it's ready". I believe we're looking at another two years.

My theory is this: Blizzard won't want to detract from WoW's next expansion, Cataclysm. Using the timeline between TBC and WotLK as a guide, Cat will release in fall of '10. They'll give the expansion about 6 months to be played through before D3 is released late Spring/early Summer of '11.

I'm not much of a PvP player in these games. I'm one of those loot hoarders that will do 100+ runs a day on a boss mob to collect all the uniques I can find. That and I enjoy leveling characters up to try whacky builds, like my Hydra Sorc. :D One feature I can't wait to check out is the landscape interaction you'll be able to do. Knocking out pillars and walls, crushing skeletons under mounds of rubble. All in the master plan...muahahaha.

Edit: Now if they're really crafty, they'll wait another year after Cataclysm to release WoW's 4th expansion in conjunction with D3. The reason: linked achievement, item and pet system, interchangable amongst the characters linked with your Battle.net 2 account. Can you imagine the amount of WoW fan base who would purchase D3 just to collect more stuff? The cash cow potential of WoW is maddening.
