*Edit* Subject was supposed to read "2 people on same TV, chat doesn't work"

Xbox 360 - If I have 2 people playing on my box and we are playing with 1 or more people online, the voice chat doesn't work. I know at least one other person that has confirmed that it doesn't work for them either.

Is this a known bug/feature? Is there a work-around (other than having one of the two of us in private chat)? We would both like to be able to talk to our friends when playing.

Any and all help appreciated, and yes I did "search" for this issue already.

The issue is a "guest" on a system causes all chat to stop working. I have created silver accounts for the rest of the family, but I haven't tested to see if that would fix the problem yet.

My other player has a gold account so I'm thinking that is just a hideous bug. I'm surprised people aren't more "vocal" about this issue. Do most people not play online with others on the same box? I know we (gamers) are typically solidarity types, but this is a pretty social game.

Uh...solidarity? I'm gonna assume you meant solitary. C'mon people, don't use big words if you don't actually know what they mean. ;)

sol·i·dar·i·ty
–noun, plural -ties.
1. union or fellowship arising from common responsibilities and interests, as between members of a group or between classes, peoples, etc.: to promote solidarity among union members.
2. community of feelings, purposes, etc.

sol·i·tar·y
–adjective
1. alone; without companions; unattended: a solitary passer-by.
2. living alone; avoiding the society of others: a solitary existence.

Ironically, solidarity is actually exactly the opposite of what you were trying to say :)

But yes, I've seen this happen too, with 2 (or 3) gold accounts signed in on my 360, if we go online to fill out the band, our voice chat doesn't work.

I've been having problems chatting w/people on Rock Band too. Actually, I never had it work. I do have some friends xbox gamertags on my xbox. How do I delete them so I can clear up this problem?

I was using irony. Correcting someone because you misunderstood them is also ironic, but it does seem to boost people's Eggos. Yes, I mean their waffles.

i·ro·ny [ahy-ruh-nee, ahy-er-] ?noun, plural -nies.
1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning

Now can we leggo the vocabulary lessons.

:p

My problem isn't because I have the accounts on the box, but when I have someone signed in with one or more of those accounts.

I did have to use a aftermarket headset even when I am the only one signed in. The Xbox 360 OEM one wouldn't work at all. If you have another headset, try that one when only you are signed in.

I don't think the two problems are related though.
