Check out the link. Great news for us, as this secures more DLC albums in 2010 because of strong sales. Please discuss.

Good, I'm hoping they do come out with more DLC, more specifically, albums. Preferably Revolver and Meet the Beats (I want 'Roll Over Beethoven damn it!)

We'll never get Meet The Beatles. That was an American only release. I don't know what was on it but the closest we'll get it With The Beatles.

For me it's Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, Let it Be...then all the rest in any order :)

You know, I was 20 before I found out that the red and blue albums that I knew by heart weren't real releases but Canada-only compilations. It never occured to me that things like that happened frequently.

The #'s are out, TB:RB goes over 700,000 its first week!
http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5219&mp=1
Congratulations on a great first week; let's see how high it goes! I maintain my original prediction of 2 million by the end of the year, but with a first week like that and the holidays approaching, perhaps I'm too low?

They're not Canada only. North America, perhaps... I see them in stores around here quite often.

An article I read stated HMX is putting their profits into future DLC so I would assume we will see a lot more DLC for The Beatles.

Those numbers are wonderful to see. I went into our local Best Buy a few days after the release day, and they were already completely sold out (bundles and stand alone games). I'm thrilled to see that it is a success for Harmonix.

Glad to see strong game sales, and with this far a lead into Xmas, hoping for more. The more who download, the more who are available online.
Wife and I, life-long Beatles fans (my mother was pregnant with me when she saw the Beatles play live...) were sure it would be a huge seller.

According to my manager, we sell more TB:RB units a day than we've sold GH5 units total. Apparently that doesn't bear out everywhere.

On topic, this is great news congrats HMX.

Yup, I had (have) them as well. It was pretty obvious (I thought) that they were compilation albums as they specified dates on the cover (unless my memory is completely shot).

Glad to see the price cut (finally) for the ps3 and that it is starting to help it become the bad ass machine that it is. Now who in their right mind would pay for a machine the same price as another when the the ps3 has all the extra stuff(free online, blu ray, easier to upgrade hard drive, free wifi, not red rings of death)? Not flaming, just common sense.

Exactly. It's a reasonable price, now. And most of us saw this coming. $600 at launch, now $300?
It's entirely possible TBRB will sell more PS3s. I didn't buy an XBox until "Knights of the Old Republic" came out...

Are you aware that not one single person in 3 pages has listed anything or even mentioned any of the 3 consoles? Didn't you just get back from a long ban?
EDIT* I see that you say you aren't trying to flame, but yet you mention the red rings? ROFL.
EDIT2* Thank Jebus for the Ignore User button.

Unless the games you want to play are on the OTHER console. I like Forza better than Gran Turismo, and I actually would LIKE to play Halo:ODST. Drake's Fortune? Not so much. Sometimes, it has nothing to do with the console and whether it is better or worse than others on the market. Right now a Wii is higher on my list because my 4 year old likes playing Wii Sports Resort at Best Buy.

Who was that guy who said The Beatles sales would be a disappointment? Some sort of "expert analyst"?? Did he say GH5 would outsell it 3:1? Well looks like its the other way around, The Beatles sold more in 1 week then GH5 has in 2 weeks on wii and 360.

I like to just simply write *eyelaser* because it sums up what I'd do to the poster if I had superpowers. Also, it's hard to reply to because, well, what you you even say to that?

It was an industry analyst for a capital management fund, I believe. Let this be a quick financial lesson for the younguns on here. Never ever believe what an analyst says unless you're personal friends with them. I know this seems like a "duh" kind of thing, but it's more than that. All financial news is designed to manipulate the direction of the market. Real information has value, and nobody will give it away for free. And really GOOD information is not available at any price for most people. Do your own research, and once you have, trust your own gut. Here endeth the lesson.

Where's the guy who started the "Financial Disaster Waiting To Happen" thread?
I'm all for moving that thread back to the Rock Band forum and seeing the responses; it would be quite entertaining. Of course it would just be excuses from all of those people, they'd do whatever they could to justify in their mind why they're wrong. No way they'd just come out and admit it. There are a few people from that thread (and just overall) who have some major crow to eat. One guy (coecastle I believe was his exact name) said that TB:RB would be outsold by GH5, GH: VH, and it would never outsell GH: Metallica.

I'm betting that the gross revenue (based on the $250 bundle) has already topped both GHM and GHA, maybe even combined.

Aerosmith has sold pretty well, better then Metallica, but Beatles should top it by Christmas. Plus Beatles has DLC.

I just read the preview, but I thought the "financial disaster" thread was because of all of the controllers that they are coming out with. People buy them, then go broke....am i thinking of a different thread?
Anyways, it's great that the sales are soaring! Like I've said before.....Great job HMX!

Great to see that the game is performing so well so far. I have had a blast playing it, and can't wait to play it with some more people. Start cranking out the DLC, HMX...I'm waiting to consume it all.

The game is really selling. When I picked up my bundle, I asked the guy at my local Gamestop if there had been many pre-orders. He made a dismal gesture and said, "Oh hell yes." I hadn't expected it, to be honest. I also asked about the age range of those who'd been picking up their copy of the game ... apparently young people are buying TB: RB as much as older people.

Nope, they were released worldwide.
I learned two things today. Holy crap.
You (and everyone else) are of course correct that 1962 - 1966 (Red) and 1967 - 1970 (Blue) were not the Canada-only releases that I thought they were...And the second thing I learned is that those aren't the albums I thought my mother had. O_o
Now I'm really confused because I can't find these ones on a list anywhere. Maybe they're bootlegs or something.

They are official compilation albums. In fact, around the 80's, EMI/Capital released more compilation albums. One was called "Beatles Ballads".

More anecdotal evidence (and we all know what it is really worth)....
At the Blockbuster I work at we had 5 preorders for Beatles (one being the full LE bundle on Wii).
Me (of course) - 42
The Manager - 30
One lady who bought it for her husband (mid 40s I would say). He is a huge Beatles fan, and they just got their wii - She got the bundle. Never played a music game before.
One girl (maybe 23) who hadn't played a music game since GH II or III(I think - whichever one had the wired Xplorer), but loved the Beatles and wanted the game.
One other in the mid 20s.
The only GH5 preorder we had was mine. :)

This may be a stupid question, but has anyone seen any information on how "Limited" the limited edition is? If this batch is really "all gone by November", are they producing more?
Just trying to decide if I should be hounding someone to pick me up one now or be able to wait when I get back next year.

Yes, because any number that's outside of your perception of what's possible must be made up.
