View Full Version : Long note sections not registering correctly?

Frustration results from the fact that long sections of repeated notes do not register for me. I have had my guitar replaced once. It seems to work fine in regards to downstrokes. I was playing Vasoline on Hard, trying to 100% it or at least get 5 stars. I noticed that during my up/down repeats during long sections of the chorus that for some unknown reason, notes would miss/not register.

As a result I went into practice and chose a simple repeated note section - the first one. I played it during practice and noted that I kept missing a note after like 5-6 strums, over and over again. I played it well enough I thought, counting in my head. I could not figure out what was up.

Then I noticed the practice section said I had performed the section at 100%. Wha!? I tried it again, counting the notes in a steady rhythm, playing them the way I know they should be played. Visually, and audibly I missed notes, yet played a consistent rhythm that I felt was correct. (GH veteran) Even though I would miss notes, the section kept saying I 100% it.

So is this evidence that there is a possible glitch with my replacement guitar or the game itself? Please offer any advice, I will try to get a video of this and experiment with other songs as well. Does this sound like a possible double strum issue?

take off the back of the guitar if it has metal contact than watch this video and fix it yourself in 5 minutes use 4 pieces works like a charm I made the video.

Other people I speak with have the same issue with other guitars as well. I tried calibration to no avail. I have no idea what is going on. **** it.

I had the same problem and took the advice from BigDaddyKool.

Now my guitar works like a charm. I noticed that the contacts for down and upstrums have been completely different and made 100% playing impossible!

Thank you so much, BigDaddyKool.

Imho replacing the guitar is not the solution as you might get another guitar which is badly constructed (for maybe 5$ somewhere in China). Fix it yourself and save time, money and frustration!

I'm going to look into this tonight. I have had the same problem as the original poster did and it's really upsetting. it does it to me in every song I play. I fairly certain it's not me since I used to play in band and I'm tapping my foot to the beat of the music. even in practice mode it's a pain

I am having the exact same problem on Expert and Hard songs. Especially "Go With the Flow". I Know I am not crazy, I can play Expert on Guitar Hero with no problem... but this guitar (i have ps3) sucks.

I am on my 3rd replacement going for my 4th. Also the replacement guitars I have received don't activate overdrive when you tilt the guitar.

P.S. I have the "new" version 2 of the guitar that has the magnetic sensors.

Its not the guitar. I have the same problem and have it with the GH II explorer and the GH III Les Paul. It is not a bad Rock band guitar. ROCK BAND HAS AN ERROR IN THE PROGRAMMING> FIX IT ALREADY

Here is a video of the Practice mode phenomenon I am having. Could not for the life of me hit these notes in the game with up down (alt) strumming. After 6-8 notes it always messes up - even if I 100% the song. This section, as you can see is easy, and should not be giving users this much trouble. I have played and finished GH 1, 2, 3, 80's and Rock Band all on Expert with quite a few FC 100% completions. Unless I have developed horrible timing since GH3 then something is up with this behavior. I am confident it is not a guitar issue as I am on my third - replacement #2. I am also confident it is not a calibration issue as my tv is a plain old standard TV.

This happens to me too sorta.

During long stretches of repeated notes(red and blue for example)it will skip one after getting several in a row.

Like.....one every 8th or 9th that I get.

I KNOW that it is not me(at least not always), and I don't think it is the guitar, because it happened with the other before i replaced it.

More frustrating than anything.

I've had the same problem, and I know almost completely it's not me because it happens on a system of roughly 6-7 notes consistantly. I only play on medium and I've never had a problem with keeping beat, my father is a guitar player and has been since far before I was born, I've grown up around it and it's in my blood. I've never had problems in Guitar Hero. I'm currently waiting on a replacement guitar to ship anyway so we'll see what happens.
