I hate it when people say that. They're trying to be smart asses or something.

George Martin was NOT a Beatle. He was their producer.

I've always been more of a John fan but lately I've really been admiring Paul more than ever. After reading the latest Rolling Stone article, I gained a lot of respect for him.
I still love John in the way that he was a truly unique person but he was kind of messed up. Had some semi-severe psychological problems and didn't deal with them in the best ways(Heroine).
Paul wanted the Beatles to stay together. He wanted to go back on tour but everybody else(Including Ringo) kind of said "Shut the F*** up, Paul!". So I admire Paul's drive to make music as a Beatle. Plus he was* a wicked bass player.

Wow! George is in the lead by one vote! I am surprised, normally people are either Paul or John fans. It is amazing that people like Ringo more than Paul too.

My order is-John then Paul and George and Ringo flip places every now and then.

Yeah, but Paul was too controlling in the later years. Plus, he got on people's nerves (I.e. George and John). I think Paul is awesome too, but the Beatles had to die. If they didn't, would we have gotten Imagine?

This board is full of Goerge fans, for some reason.

I voted Ringo. He's the funny one, he didn't let his ego get in the way of making music, and he somehow found the Fountain of Youth and married a Bond girl.

I agree that the Beatles had to die. I don't think John would have been shot if they stayed together. I think they would have become somewhat mediocre and wouldn't be the legends we see them as today and I may not have ever become a fan. They may not have even made Beatles Rock Band. So, in a way... it's a good thing John and George found Paul so irritating and broke up.

I admire Paul's efforts to keep them together and I respect the rest of the Beatles' points of view on the break-up. If they didn't want to be a band, they shouldn't be forced to. There is no real right or wrong to be laid on anyone in that case. Everyone was right in their own way, you know? I guess I'm glad things worked out the way they did, but I will always wonder what would have happened if things were different...

^ that guy in my avatar.

He's the one who kept the band alive when John was being all pissy and moody! His songs also get to me emotionally (The Long and Winding Road ;_; ).

I have no objections to you or anyone else choosing a favorite Beatle, however.

I like John, Paul & Ringo but I don't like George. I was pretty shocked when I saw that George was the one ppl voted for. In the 60's it was Paul and Ringo that everyone loved! They didn't care for George. But I guess he's cool now

Tough call. In the movies, Ringo's a lock. Straight-up music wise, it's tough to call between Paul and John (and post-Beatles work doesn't make it any easier for me)...

So, gonna go with George. Probably b/c "Got My Mind Set on You" was big when I was in high school (and that was doubly cool for me, as I was pretty much the only kid in my immediate circle who was already listening to them by that point)...

Paul. I liked Paul's songs better for the most part. I wasn't a huge fan of Lennon's voice, but he did write some really good songs. I like Harrison, but he doesn't compare to Lennon/McCartney. As for Ringo, he's one of my favorite drummers, but he is just outmatched by the other members. I also wasn't a huge fan of how Lennon treated his family and his comments about Christianity.

It's good to see that Ringo is getting some love, of course he is going to come in last, but the guy was the glue that kept the band together. Without him it would've been a much shorter run. He played exactly what the songs called for no more, no less and his easy going personality was the only thing that let the egos of the other 3 even work together.

My vote's for George...he's been my fave for about five years now. But for the longest time, I would say Paul without any hesitation, out of tending to like his songs the most AND being a bass appreciator. That said, Paul is a very close second...but I've grown to adore George through finding that I tend to enjoy his a songs a little more than usual compared to the others AND admiring what he did for the world/Indian/Hindustani Classical music microcosm. Simply amazing and sometimes quite the overlooked (though you wouldn't think it from this poll!) member and musician, Harrison was...

Who cares how John treated his family? This thread is about your favorite Beatle, based on music alone. If it wasn't I could say I didn't care for how George had an affair with Ringo's wife.

When I was young, McCartney, as I loved Wings more than Lennon's solo work.

In game? Harrison, his songs are a treat to play.
