I stumbled on this link on another board I frequent and was blown away. It said next gen-pc graphics so it will be a while before we see anything this cool on consoles. But wow...

wow, the computer I'm building should be able to smoke crysis when I get it built, which makes me reconsider going overboard like I am, of course by that time crysis will be yesterdays news. The computer I'm planning on building is a dual quad running 6g ram, haven't decided on the video card I'm gonna buy yet, it's been a while and I'm out of touch with the current tech, last video card I bought was a radeon 9800pro about 8 years ago. If anyone's got some suggestions on pc parts I'd love to hear em, I got one built on a newegg wishlist, but honestly I want to spend as little as I can, without it being obsolete anytime soon. I figure a good MB/Processor is all I really need to go all out on right away, everything else can be upgraded as I go along.

well, PC games age rather quickly, but Cysis 2 is coming out next year, who knows how insane that will look.

The graphics look like they're running on Blu-ray in that video. However, I don't really like Blu-ray, since the picture is so clear it looks fake.

They have almost gotten out of the uncanney valley. There's something not quite right about it, but at the same time it's very impressive.
I just wonder if the in-game graphics look that good.

Well I'm pretty sure that video has been around for at least a year, so who knows where they're at now.

Holy Hell, that's kinda frightening.
I wouldn't expect to see these kind of graphics as the norm for at least ten more years anyway. Development costs are out of control as it is, and producing a game using that tech has got to cost an outlandish amount.

Im gonna get C2 for the PS3 when it comes out, and hopefully it will match up to at least what was in C1.

Actually, the good thing about this tech is that its relitevly LOW production costs, mo-cap has always been like that.
But yeah, still a few years off, especially since that demo video might not have been real time, and even if it was, its only rendering the face of one model, nothing else.

I don't know about anyone else, but that looks like it is still too much into the uncanny valley for me. I believe it has the most to do with the lighting. The mo-capped animation looks very good and I'm quite happy that they were able to get that much articulation going on.
