View Full Version : Yet Another DLC Issue

I've been looking at different posts on different sites for at least an hour and I'm getting different answers everywhere I go.
My problem is this: I downloaded a couple songs and a track pack a while ago on an old account on my PS3. Since then I've deleted the account (PS3 account AND PSN account, dumb move) and am using a new one now.
The songs still appear in my setlist and can preview, but when I try to play them i get a data unavailable message before they load.
Now a lot of the time the error will come in the middle of a mystery setlist and we'll lose all our progress. It won't let me re-download my DLC for free from the Playstation Store or RB Music Store.
Does anyone know how I can get my DLC to work again without paying for it again or at least keep it from coming up on the random songs?

If all of this is on the same PS3 (old deleted account, and new current account), then that means those deleted-account-songs are still in your game-data-utility file (and they're tied to a now non-existant account).
You're going to need to delete the RB2 file from XMB >> Game >> Game Utility File >> Rock Band 2
And then you'll need to re-download all of your valid DLC.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Yes, it was a dumb move. I don't like my PSN-ID name anymore either, but it's tied to probably $600+ worth of PSN DLC.

Thanks, but the thing is, I can't re-download the songs I've purchased already. It says I have to purchase them again, which I don't really intend to do.
Edit: Meh, you'd think the most powerful gaming system you can buy wouldn't be limited by such a silly flaw. On the bright side, maybe paying for my offspring songs again will support future DLC for them.

Do you still have the info to sign back into that "deleted" PSN account? (As far as I'm aware, this is no way to permanently delete a PSN account)
Re-add the same PS3 user-name that was tied to that PSN account. (XMB >> Users >> Create New User)
Log into that user. Go to XMB >> Playstation Network >> Setup Account (?)
Then when setting up that account, opt to use an existing PSN account, enter the email/password from the "deleted" account, and you should be back in business.
