Greetings All,

Love the game, love online play...hate that I can't communicate with my fellow PS3 band mates when I'm online.

If you play online with a PS3, you have probably already run across the guitar/bass players flipping from one instrument to another right after the song is chosen.

For those of you that aren't aware, or don't know what it means...if I am flipping back and forth...it means either
1. I don't care which I play guitar or bass...YOU pick
OR
2. Quit bogarting the guitar!

If we put our heads together we can come up with some more standard signals like this..

For example...

How about flipping back and forth 3 times from New Song to Replay right after the scores are shown to signal Great Job to all!

How about since I'm having a great time and I don't want to break up the band, but we've played 8 songs in a row and i need to go to the can, or get a beer or whatever...if any band member flips back and forth from easy to medium 3 times on the selection screen it means I need a quick break!

Someone suggested that if you don't like a song selection that you just sit on the selection screen. If I'm the leader, I'll take note and select another song...

Any other thoughts or ideas on PS3 signals out there?

I'm not looking for fixes or patches but rather our own online language to be able to have a little more control over the PS3 online band play.:D

This is still pretty ridiculous if you think about it, us having to make signals, lol :D

Don't feel bad when I playonline I have only found a few people that will talk. So even thou we have voice chat seems that no ones uses it. I have even said please don't play that song or what do you wan tto play Bass, or guitar, and have gotten nothing in responce. So even if the PS3 did have voice chat I wonder how many people would even use it.

I think quite a few would use it... I know I would. You don't realize how annoying it is until you don't have it.

As far as the ideas, they seem mostly reasonable, except for the flipping back and forth 3 times... they might be getting a little out there. Something simpler might be warranted here.

I don't know how to get this out for the masses to see though... it is hard to have a universal language. I guess we will just have to pray for voice support.

I havent gotten around to playing Rock Band online yet, but i've seen the signals before, on games that support microphone communication. Even musical games. People just use quick in game movements to attempt to show what they mean. Like flipping from expert to easy i learned means "I can do any skill level you can, so feel free to pick one". But thats in another game, im not sure how Rock Bands online is yet. Ill keep an eye out for the signals ;)
