Yes please.
Flight of the Conchords are like a musical comedy group from New Zealand. They've got a TV show.
Think sorta like Tenacious D but less metal and more intelligent jokes.

Such as... they almost always come as far as i can tell, its just a matter of waiting patiently. Look how long it took for Anvil to come and even bands officially announced by HMX take a lifetime such as Janes Addiction and goodness knows when Snoop Dogg will appear.

Wasn't there a page that had listings for bands coming to Rock Band? The one that people use for citing why Flyleaf is supposedly coming?
That was what I was thinking of.
DookieMan
09-20-2009, 08:11 PM
Well, they are Sub Pop and will possibly be on Rock Band Network. Personally, I can't wait. They are one of the bands I always wanted in the game. Hopefully, people online will have them...

Disturbed talked about other tracks from Indestructible being in the game over a year ago.
Modest Mouse talked about Dashboard being in Guitar Hero 3 before it came out.
Nickelback said they would never be in a music game but they have DLC in GH:WT.
I never trust what bands say. Although they are on Subpop records and that label said they wanted to bring their entire catalogue to RB through the RBN, so they are definitely coming.

Yeah but that link where they were listed also featured Supersonic by Oasis and Ill Stick Around by The Foo Fighters which only just recently did we finally get our hands on them ourselves so i believe Flyleaf will come becasue of this.
Even the long shot artist boasts have come true as i remember reading Ray Parker Jnr being quoted as saying he had been in talks and i thought at the time "yeah right, never happen" only for it to be announced official for Lego Rock Band so yeah, its just a matter of time. We cant take all these "leaks" as fact of course but the band members themselves as always pretty sound sources of info on songs being licensed.

If it does come out, it will when the rock band network is up and running because the flight of the concords are on Sub Pop's label. In the mag. game informer, there was a brief interview with Sub Pop and they said they'd like to put their whole catalog up for download.

Yeah, they would never be informed of when as thats all down to the discretion of HMX and their bosses but at least through them we can know if they are coming or not. I remember this very lack of not knowing for sure when their own music will appear in the game caused so much confusion over when we were to get Chinese Democracy as Axl was hardly keeping schtum that HMX had licensed the whole album.
Mind you speaking of thenewno2 album if anyone from the band side of it knows the dlc release of their work then it would be Dhani Harrison, they owe him that much info given he was the key instigator in getting everyone onside for what would become The Beatles Rock Band.

They never announced a Madden pack or that all of the songs from Madden 2009 were coming to Rock Band. The actual announcement just said "songs from Madden 2009." It didn't say all or some, it just said songs from the game are coming. We got a few and we actually already had a few from the game before the announcement. Since they didn't specify, people blew it out of the water.

thenewno2 may well still be coming(through regular dlc or ,more likely as I see it, through rbn).
And the madden soundtrack was NEVER said to be coming. It was siad that songs from the soundtrack would be coming, which they did. They NEVER said all the songs.

If you've never heard of Flight of the Conchords, you're missing out on one of the funniest shows on TV. Those guys as great comedians as well as great musicians.
On an aside note, I guess my top three of choice would be:

Business Time

While it would make for "guitars as synths"during gameplay, I've always loved Inner City Pressure. Have not heard many Pet Shop Boys parodies, but if there are more than one, this track would be on top of the "best of" list.
But I'll take any of 'em. DookieMan's list above is solid - but would love to have Robots & Most Baeutiful Girl in the Room as well.
I saw that a new FotC album is coming in the fall, so I assume RB tracks might coincide with that.

Sweet. I believe this 100%. It's coming from the artists themselves and they specifically made a point to mention 3 songs are coming. They probably just know they signed off on a three-pack deal and now it's just a matter of time for the business people to do their work, Harmonix do do their thing, and the songs to sit in the queue for a while. Smaller acts like these guys and Anvil are likely to know about such deals. Once the bands know it's happening, it's likely just a matter of time like Anvil, Third Eye Blind (sometime in the future) and Electric Six (bet on it soon).

Jemaine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jemaine_Clement), there's no r.
Anyway, this is awesome. It'll probably be three songs from their album coming out Oct. 20th, in which case I'm hoping for;
Demon Woman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Wj2p-baqGE)

and You Don't Have To Be A Prostitute. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAMFqGWXzbI)

The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jgghjx2Ghqk)
She's So Hot...Boom (HBO Comedy Special Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUm3b2r9osg)

Honestly, I thought their first season of songs was much better, but my favorite from the second season is You Don't Have to be a Prostitute.
They said that making the music for the second season was very tough on them since they were much more on-the-spot to come up with something--as opposed to the first season almost nothing was new and had been the songs they'd been playing/touring with for years.
Some of the Ssn 2 stuff was funny, but to me it didn't seem nearly as witty (mostly in that "sneaky" sort of way that the lyrics creep in with the funny) as the original material.
But whatever, Conchords on RB = Win.

I'd rather have something from the 1st, 2nd or possibly even the 3rd most popular folk-parody duos in New Zealand. Okay, I know the 3rd most popular is a FotC tribute band, so probably that one's out.

Not so sure - it seems quaint they themselves said they didnt know which three songs are coming to Rock Band... they must be either in the dark or being coy though i think its the former though, Anvil themselved didnt know which songs were coming either and it ended up two classic tracks and one more more lesser known (usually more recent) effort as is now almost traditional with three packs (see Rancid, Franz Ferdinand, Gorrilaz and Evanescence etc)

And I hope these tracks are amongst the ones that make it to the PS3, of course. :D

This made me a happy fat kid. I can't wait to sing this stuff in half!
You know when I'm down to just my socks, what time it is.
It's time for business.
It's business time.
I would love for Robots or Jenny to be the other older track too... God. I can not wait.

Jenny is one of their most funny tracks, but I just can't see it working in RB. Same goes for the rhymenoceros/hiphopapotamus rap battle.

PacifistwithaGun had earlier said (very eloquently, I might add) :
Flight of the Conchords are like a musical comedy group from New Zealand. They've got a TV show.
Think sorta like Tenacious D but less metal and more intelligent jokes.
They're from New Zealand, they parody song GENRES (not particular songs) but with a folk-like elegance (aka usually two acoustic guitars, at least when they play live), they've been around for a while but only have a cult following because hey, it's New Zealand after all. ;)
Unless you watch HBO you've probably never heard of them. Go YouTube search them, especially "Business Time" or general clips from the show. They're silly, but in a subtle, dry, intelligent way.

What, as in "it's from New Zealand, so it couldn't be legitimately popular world-wide". Mmmm-hmmm...

I love that song!
"Get me a small man's wetsuit, please" :P
I'm glad that they are confirmed now, I hope Bowie is one of the songs included.

They have! Business Time, The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room), and Demon Woman are all available and ready to download from the Rock Band Network. You won't regret them!
...this is assuming you have a 360.

Business Time is totally overcharted...at least judging by the demo. The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room), on the other hand, is amazing; can NOT stop playing that one.

I assure you, there are no notes being charted there that aren't in the guitar part. If instead you mean "it's difficult to play", then I agree with you.

I would describe Business Time's guitar part as "an acoustic guitar part that doesn't lend itself very well to being played in Rock Band." Miraculously, The Most Beautiful Girl (In The Room) doesn't seem to suffer the same fate.

I'm disapointed to hear about Business Time. Was hoping to be able to play that one just screwing around with friends without really worrying about hitting everything. How hard is it, exactly?
I'd already have bought it (and the two other FOTC songs for that matter), but at my university the 360 can't connect to Live for whatever reason, so no new songs til I'm home. Can't wait for RBN in general though.

Check out my drum chart I posted. Had no problems gold starring Demon Woman, but Business Time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH3kSde6mus) has some constant beat that I haven't been able to work into a routine yet. Guitar on expert can be done well enough. I wouldn't call it over-charted, but difficult. It's just making my arms sore.

If you've played Lego Rock Band, "Business Time" is essentially an easier "Kung Fu Fighting" on guitar. Constant strumming with chords thrown in, not that fun, might be better on Hard than Expert. It's kind of fun on bass, though (albeit maybe a bit repetitive).

It's not that hard, just a little annoying to play. If you're playing it as a full band I think people will be entertained enough by the singer that the guitar chart won't hurt the experience much

It's more than a little annoying to me. I'd say I'm an above average player but I got 3 stars on guitar the first time I played it and have no desire to play it on guitar again.

Yeah, it was a very frustrating chart to play. The chord changes and placements felt very awkward. I love the song either way but I probably won't play it on guitar again. It's more fun to sing anyway.

Business Time is my white whale. One day I will manage to gold star it and I will be happy. It's a pain to play, but I love the song and will not stop trying to master it.
At least the vocals are fun to sing, though.

Man, after watching that drum chart for Business Time, I'm definitely not buying. Not really sure what else I should have expected though. I never really paid attention to the drums in that song.

Yeah, Business Time is one of their funniest songs, but it doesn't really make a good fit for Rock Band. I was personally rooting for "Bowie" and I do hope that shows up eventually (although that song also has a bit of a long wait before the drums start, but it's a more energetic song once they do).

I'm really hoping we get some more Flight of the Conchords. Their songs are a TON of fun to sing, and are fun on the other instruments (though, "Buisiness Time" isn't that fantastic on guitar). "Robots" would be amazing, and I think that "Prince of Parties" would translate well into the game.

Why not just release the entire first album? But, Inner City Pressure and Bowie in particular have to make it. Also, Leggy Blonde.

As much as I'd like to play this song, it would be halted by censorship.
I much prefer the live version of "Robots" (or "Humans are Dead") and "Hiphopopotamus vs Rhymnoceros". The binary solo should be charted as the first vocal solo. :p
