View Full Version : Lack of BREs in TB:RB

It wasn't until someone else pointed it out to me that I realized that there are no Big Rock Endings in TB:RB.

:)

I know that sometimes BREs hide some nasty stuff that nobody could possibly FC (Bodhisatva Expert Guitar, for example), but most of the time they are nothing more than an annoyance. Does anyone actually enjoy them? If they must be in future RB games, then at least make them xompletely optional by not having them affect scoring at all.

I enjoy them.

Plus, when playing live, people have to improvise. Big rock endings at least provide some sort of simulation in that aspect.

No I don't miss them too much, and they do not fit Beatles songs, but I kind of find em fun on drums, but that's all really. I could imagine just wailing on my drum set at the end of Something :p

What Beatles songs would they even work well with? Helter Skelter's the only one I can think of.

I like that they aren't in. Although I can think of a few songs where they might work out (not so much in game now but for DLC), but I like that they kept as true to the songs as possible.

Not a fan, and I agree they don't fit well with Beatles songs.

I can't think of any Beatles songs where a BRE would really be present or called for.

They weren't "big finish" kind of guys. Makes about as much sense as using the stage kit here.

They don't fit with The Beatles songs. But it's not like they'd have been included. For the same reason there are no fills, whammy distortion, extra percussion notes, or freestyling before/after song.

None of the songs really had any instrumentation that demanded a BRE.

The whole concept of the BRE I've grown a bit weary of anyway, so I can't say I'm sad to see it go.

The BRE makes sense for drums, as it provides an element of freestyle. But for guitar and bass, it amounts to nothing more than point mashing, since you create no unique sound of your own. There's nothing rhythmic or musical about it, just mash the buttons in a 1-5 pattern.

And I really dislike when they cover up something you could be singing.

It perplexes me how anyone can not like BRE's. It's free points for flailing around on your instrument after playing through a predetermined chart of notes. It's like letting off steam. Without BRE's, we'd all be failing songs right at the end only because the band decided to thrash on their instruments randomly. I went through that on Hot For Teacher on GHWT, I don't want to go through it on Rock Band
