Having trouble inviting friend

I've been trying to invite a friend to do the quickplay multiplayer for the past 2 hours and it keeps saying that it can't connect whenever the other person or I try to join. Yet we both have all the system and rock band updates and we aren't using the same instruments and can both find random people online so it's not like we aren't connected to the online network or whatever. If anyone knows what the problem might be any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same here. It took me and my buddy several tries on xbox to finally get it working. Also, is it possible to voice chat while playing w/each other?

not that i know of no which also kinda sucks, we were just talking over the phone since i have a bluetooth for it. So you just kept trying and it worked eventually or what?

if you guys are connecting using a router try resetting, or reseting modem or what ever it is you are using

what is your NAT setting

it may just be the XBL or PSN servers.. they may just be slow at the moment

Pretty much. Each time took us about 10 tries. I was never able to get him to join one of my bands I created, but I was eventually able to join his. He doesn't have a BT, so we had to basically send each other text messages during the end of each song.

Not really sure what my NAT setting is but i'm not doing wireless it's just plugged directly into the router, and i haven't had any problems with any other games like this so it might just be that it's slow or something, or my friends. I'll try the restarting the router thing and just keep trying to connect and see if it works.

its network address translation- if you have a router that is locked down for security. your router isnt the best for gaming

run the network test look at the bottom of the test were it says NAT it should say open if not

you should change your router to either a gaming compatabile on or a vista compatible one

they are all open
