Okay so, I got the game (for PS3) on launch and I've played it
almost everyday since then and, surprisingly, have had no problems whatsoever.
Until tonight, that is. I'm just going along, playing a song, and suddenly
there's a little snap sound and my whammy goes limp. It was very tragic.
What I'm wondering is whether or not this is significant enough for me to put in for a replacement through the warranty. What do you guys think? I mean, it's only been like a month since the game came out. I don't really think the whammy should break that soon. :\
Anyways, other than that, I've been having a pretty darn good experience with this game.
So, anybody know what I should do? Will I ever whammy again?
Thanks.

Wow, this JUST happened to me about 5 minutes ago... but I mean, the actual guitar hasnt even gotten that much use, mainly I played the drums and sang for the first two weeks, then just recently got into the guitar mode. Mine broke during the song Detroit Rock City.
Also I have the 360 version. but still It made the little snap sound, and went limp...
sucks man, I'm gonna go ahead and see about getting either a replacement, or them just fixing it, it wasnt like I was Jerking it back and forth, just using my pinkie to make the music sound cooler...

I had this happen to me the other day too.
I thought up an easy fix and it works perfectly again.
Take a rubber band and wrap one end around the whammy bar and the other end around the bottom of the guitar strap.
This keep your whammy bar in the un-whammied position and also creates the spring-back that is needed to use it.
Hope this helps!
