I've been seriously considering buying the LE Bundle, not just because of the "limited" nature it's being promoted as, but also because I've always loved the Hofner (having a real one also helps!) and I'm going to get the Gretsch, also.

But, what do folks who have the LE Bundle like it so far? Is it worth getting?

I dig it..

I use the Hofner for bass exclusively on all games now.. I use the Gretsch for TB:RB guitar and the Rickenbacker for non TB:RB games..

Im not a drummer.. but the kit looks on par with RB2

Obviously they dont all come in the LE bundle.. I would say if your a drummer.. or there is one in your household.. and you have a "thing" for that Hofner bass.. you cant really go wrong

The bass rocks. The drums are better than RB2 drums. Much more responsive.

I love the bass. I prefer the RB2 drum kit.

I love it! I use the Hofner strictly as a bass and tell anyone who plays they need to use the Hofner as a bass :p

The second you open the box and see the Hofner Bass, you realize your $250 purchase is justified.

i use the hofner exclusively for tbrb and bass on rb2. the drums i dont really use, because i have ions. But the thing i say is the worst out of everything in the LE bundle is the drumsticks! I broke one of them after trying out the drums for the story mode, i actually broke it on the drum solo in The End, quite funny. The sticks were really small and didn't give me too much rebound, but otherwise if i didn't have ions i would def use the drum kit. To be honest, i liked the pedal so much that i use it on my ions and hofner to activate Beatlemania.

I love the kit.

The little white circular sticker on the fret keeps sliding off though. I may have to paint it back on. Minor quibble though... must have sweaty fingers :o

I love the bundle, the drums feel more solid and the Hofner is a work of art. The mic and stand are ok but I prefer my vantage mic, and the stand I have has a round base instead of a tripod so I don't trip over it as much. (Granted a little more difficult to store)

Postcards.

They SERIOUSLY couldn't just post that on this board so all of us who endlessly questioned it could stop wondering?

Totally worth it no matter how you slice it, but for me it was really worth it b/c I didn't have a drum kit. The Hofner is awesome too!

I am going to get some testors model enamel and fill the 2 that are on the buttons before they even do fall off..

although... I have had to reposition one of them already

Weird, IGN hated the Limited Edition's guts. Looks like it's better than they said.

For me it was really worth it. All set up in the rec room it looks fab. Even my wife thinks I should get the other guitars just to complete the look.

I was previously using the wired RB1 Strat and drums, so upgrading to these instruments was a major improvement. The fact that they are beautiful makes the price tag easier to justify.

Sure, I could have bought an RB2 bundle and the TB:RB disc and saved about $90, but the Hofner is a wonderful looking controller and really makes playing Bass feel different, too.

I am not fond of the Rickenbacker as much as the Gretsch or the Hofner, but I may still pick that up some time to complete the set and because the controls are placed for easier use.

I came from RB1 drums so they're night and day. But they don't rattle, they respond very well, very quiet w/o pads but my RB1s were muted better since they had XCell pads (but not by much), you can move them around without the legs getting undone. It's just a very solid kit.

The sticks were not to my taste. They're shorter and fatter than the RB1 sticks. I use my Zildjians anyways.

I don't play guitar so I can't comment.

The mic seems to respond well as my wife hasn't complained. We love the mic stand that came with it.

Alright, dag nabbit! (I apologize for such strong language...)

I just ordered the LE bundle from Wal Mart.com, since they also have a TB:RB shirt that gets sent with it.

I'm really looking forward to this!

The LE set is my first RB purchase. I'm very pleased with it. I guess if I had any drawbacks it'd be that they give you crap drumsticks and the "drum head" is a little cheap looking. Overall though I'm really happy with it. Every time I look at that Höfner I grin. :)

You know Paul's hofner famously has a scratch on it. Surely it's in a different place but go take a look at pictures online

I actually don't feel like the LE bundle is worth it.
1 - the drums are nice. My RB2 set was starting to get really bad though, and while I was able to fix it to the point where most of it worked acceptably, the red pad was still misfiring. It's good to have a replacement set.
2 - The mic isn't a new design. I had been hoping, but it's still fine.
3 - the extras - the postcards and the drumhead - are both really not worth justifying the extra cost.
4 - the Hofner isn't right for me. I suspect that mine just isn't that great, but assuming the the functionality is the problem, there are still issues with it.

I tend to play almost everything in RB with upstrums only. This looks similar to how bass is played, with my hand resting on the body of the guitar. With the Hofner, the shape of the body prohibits me from resting my hand on the edge. The pose that this puts my hand into makes my thumb get bruised.
I picked up a used GH4 guitar, and I've been happy with that (except that BREs are more difficult).

Aside from the appearance, I don't feel that the price was justified.
I was more annoyed that I had to spend the extra money to get a guitar to make the game enjoyable to play.

the price actually was justified because if Harmonix would have sold it separate:
Drums - $100
Hofner - $100
Game - $60
Mic - $15 - 20
Mic Stand - $15
Postcards - ??
Having a good time - Priceless

So the total is sold separate would be $295, so we saved $45.
plus the box is quite nice

Looking to wait til Xmas time but don't wanna miss out!

Thats just a sales point.....its fake. Rock Band 2: SPECIAL EDITION. Remember? Well, its STILL special. So is RB1.

Opinions! They're great!

IGN's never liked any of the RB instruments except the drums anyway, I'm not sure why they disliked the Beatles drums though, 'cause they're sweet.

For a counter opinion, see GamesRadar, they seemed to like the LE stuff, the only complaint was the "sticky" pause buttons.

Well, technically, it is Limited. They will never produce an infinite number of them. Therefore, the production run is a finite number - ergo, "limited" in the literal sense of the word.

So far, there aren't enough of them to fill the demand, despite some stores still having them in stock.

Perhaps they mean "Limited" in terms of region - which would explain why some countries cannot get the bundle.

I don't honestly care what they call it - I was going to get it either way and didn't plan on waiting. Even items that aren't labeled as "limited" become harder to find the longer one waits.

I think these will be limited, in the fact of the licensing agreements being logistical nightmares.

You aren't just dealing with Gibson (as is the case with GH) or Fender (normal RB and RB2).

You have several companies, one of which has been a pain with their image and likeness on facsimilies of their guitars (Rickenbacker), as well as the possibility for the licensing to only last a certain time, and may not be renewed.

Huh? Seems to me the, ah, black guitar---the one they refer to as the Rick and the 325, is a Rickenbacker???? Or am I just one toke over the line?
Am thinking about that one. Yall like it?
