Here is the thread to discuss all things video games. Online play, games you're playing/having trouble with and ask questions if you're having trouble etc. Let's try to keep discussion in here sane and devoid of too much console wars rubbish unless you are comparing/contrasting between the different versions of the game (like the differences in the Orange Box for example)

K. So, I just bought Mirror's Edge at Best Buy for twenty bucks and I'm lovin' it. It is just a great platformer and very creative. The level design is great and I love the sleek art style. I also appreciate that lack of focus on combat and more on the platforming and freerunning aspect.

I'm also going to pick up The Orange Box once my psychology class is over. It looks very addictive and I've been wanting to pick up Team Fortress 2 for a while. Also looking forward to Modern Warfare 2 and Operation Flashpoint 2.

I bought and subscribed to Champions Online. I personally am having a lot of fun with it but the content gap I've run into is starting to make me grind to a halt on the fun-o-meter. Although it's being fixed and constantly improved upon, I'm not sure how long I'll keep playing.

... and I am half-way through Dragon Quest V for the DS but I haven't picked it up in two weeks. Probably because since July 21st I beat Crisis Core, Crimson Gem Saga, Final Fantasy I, and Final Fantasy 2... I might have RPG'd myself out for a few more weeks.

(I still have Fire Emblem and Suikoden Tierkreis to beat after DQV)

I downloaded the demo for WET and love it, but I'll just keep replaying it until the game goes down in price until it's around $35. I don't have money coming out of my ears and I'm saving my "at most one $60 game a month" money for Brutal Legend.

Oh yeah, have I mentioned that I love the soundtrack to WET? I don't think I did but I'll mention it again just to be safe.

I can't get into WoW. I'm a level 18 Human Warrior (Durr that's why. Human AND a Warrior!? FAIL!) but I just can't really get into it.. I play it like once a week on Friday and/or Saturday just with my sister getting maybe a level a day. It's an okay game and all, but I don't understand how it could be addicting.

I saw Eve-Online for 5 bucks on Direct2Drive and really wanted to get it. But I didn't. Instead I went to McKays and got two PS2 games (.Hack// Pt. 1 and 2) and 1 Xbox game (Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee).

All previously owned of course. (I mean, I owned them once. But they were used, too.) But great games, they are! I really wanted to nab Pokemon Emerald or Pokemon Yellow, but they had neither. I could have settled with Pokemon Red/Blue, Crystal, or Fire Red, though. I also wanted to get that Sega GT Xbox game that comes with Jet Set Radio Future. But I... well, I don't know why I didn't get it. Could've grabbed Fable 1, as well. :(

im in the middle of a self imposed break from WoW. It really is fun when you are playing with a group of friends and use sykpe/Ventrilo to communicate with them.

it is fun, but it's overrated. i like the mining/herbalism thing that i do... the auctioning, the buying, the fighting... it's all fun, but i don't think i even play it enough to get $15 out of it every month.

might be time to stop playing it myself at least for awhile until i get an urge.

i know this sounds awfully convienent,but for one, i have more fun on the Horde,and two, it really starts to get fun around level 25(once you start doing cool instances).

power-shot glitch removed
hunter ghost swipe glitch removed
infinite molotov glitch removed
tanks more likely to show up in every map

CONS
item density dramatically increased (pipes and mollies are so common you can throw them for practically horde and meds/pills are just as bad)
balanced tier 2 weapons removed (one team may get tier 2 guns at the first table while the other team goes without until the last table)
DA2 freezer door NOT removed
skybox/invisible walls/infected ladder issues still present
broken lobbies/games still present
a few seemingly random small areas/rooms now blocked off


the last thing this game needed was more meds/items to aid the survivors in further waltzing through levels unharmed... PC players can easily fix this with CEVO or frustians mods, but competitive xbox users are boned.

The game becomes REALLY addictive when you hit max level and start raiding. You will lose your soul.

He hates me now.

I have never played a Pokemon game. Ever.

Oh and I'm thinking about the two games I'll get for my PS3 for Christmas. Killzone 2 is a given, but I think I might get Elder Scrolls Oblivion as well. Any suggestions?

Anyways, I've got this really weird Xbox problem where I can connect to Live perfectly, but can't download files or view the marketplace. Everything else works absolutely perfect, but marketplace is borked. I'm also running the connection thru my laptop if it means anything.

That's not the problem. All my torrents are off, same with Limewire. Obviously I need to leave this computer on or there won't be any connection. Usually I can still see the songs in the RB music store and it downloads NHL10 rosters fine, it's just that I can't connect to any other aspect of the marketplace...

I'm not going to lie, this whole issue is really pissing me off. My connection's perfectly fine. It tells me to test my connection but when I do it comes up like nothing's wrong.

I was playing Left 4 Dead (versus mode) online today with a few strangers. We were playing as the survivors. We got through 1 1/2 levels of a campaign and I thought we were doing really well. I killed a lot of special infected myself, saved a lot of my teammates, helped them up, stuck with the group, everything I was supposed to do.

Suddenly, midway through the second level, everybody else votes to kick me out. It really hurt my feelings.

I wasn't playing with a headset, do you think that might have pissed them off? Or were they complete nerds who can't tolerate a little bit of friendly fire (which I have a wee problem with)?

there's a good chance they had a friend coming in and needed your spot...

as i'm sure you've noticed, L4D has a TERRIBLE community for the most part and players rarely have the balls to just say "hey, my buddy wants in so do you mind him taking your spot?".

there's always a chance you weren't pulling your weight, or at least they thought so, but those kicks typically come within the first map (same as "no mic kicks").

Left 4 Dead is best played with friends anyway. You can develop strategies and communicate better that way.

'Tis a double edged sword. I just so happen to live with my L4D partner in crime, and we play great together, but playing split screen really gets my goat.

i played L4D competitively on the PC for the better part of this year and i can't help but feel i've seen it all... e-drama doesn't even begin to describe it...

i've been playing on the xbox just to get away from it all and though i have to keep my mic muted half the time so my team can't hear me describing how terrible they are at the game, i do have fun just playing random pub teams and seeing what chaos emerges from the chemistry.

if you two ever wanna do a game up i'm "CrabbiestTester" on the xbox... i won't be rude to you know who. ;)

In one week I'll be playing me some KH 358/2 days. I can remember first hearing about it at the TGS almost exactly two years ago, and now it's almost here. I can't wait.

Ouch. I remember that happening to me when I saved at the Cherry Popper Ice Cream factory in GTA Vice City. The save I had worked on for like a year was corrupted.
