Guitar and Drums won't work

I have no idea what we are doing wrong. The drums and the guitar won't work. Batteries installed... the microphone is the only thing that works. The guitar and drums xbox deal spins green, around and around, but never CONNECTING. Help me out

Did you sync them to your X360?

Make sure you press and hold the sync button on the instrument until it's green circle starts spinning, then press and release (no need to hold) the sync button on the actual console until it's green circle starts spinning. After a couple of seconds, the controller should sync up. Do this once for each controller (don't do them all at once).

i had the same problem last night with my guitar. i wasnt able to hit the notes on songs that i do perfect. i strum down on the guitar. does anyone know if i need to get a new guitar or is there an easier way of fixing the problem?
