HOLY BASS PEDAL NOTES BATMAN!!
My right leg started to cramp up last night from just 6 songs on expert. They really went nuts with those bass notes.
I guess I have to start using tiger balm on my right shin and quad so I don't feel anything while I'm playing.
I did get even better from playing those bass notes though. I just have to keep my right hand from trying to go the same speed as my foot.
Oh well, wish me luck when I get to Run to the Hills on expert!!:eek:

Yeah I finally conquired Run to the Hills on Hard last night and moved up to Expert. I'm only 6 or 7 songs in so far... a couple are a notably more challenging where I found a couple others were easier.

lol, I can play RTTH... it's Fallout Boy's Dead On Arrival that stops me from getting there :( The bass on that song hurts my head :( (on Expert of course)

By "they", I hope you mean the original drummers for the songs and not the creators of the game, because the game does not include any "extra" kick drum hits that weren't in the song to begin with :)
And RttH really isn't bad on the kick drum, it pretty much just plays on every beat of the song (minus a few). It's the constant hi-hat hits that'll get ya :)

I have no drums experience, and I have gotten to expert. Dead on Arrival (expert) is the only song that is keeping me from getting any further on solo tour. I keep thinking that my foot is hitting the notes, until i fail, haha.

Well, wasn't thinking like that so, yeah the drummers not harmonix. But you still got my point.
I haven't seen fall out boy yet on expert. But either way, I am having some of the best time in a video.

Haha I remember when I started the solo hard tour and went through the first few sets 5* it all the way...until Fall Out Boy kicked me in the face...then I got to Run to the Hills...it kicked me somewhere lower...

yeah the fall out boy on expert drums is insane.. FOB knew people on the Rock Band forums would be insulting them so they felt they had something to prove by making insanely hard/confusing drum patterns in their song apparently

DOA is challenging, but oh so fun on drums! I also enjoy the guitar a lot; it's kinda punk-ish. The singer's voice is not my favorite, but the melody is alright. Overall I really enjoy playing the song.
Now, Run to the hills is a different story. The drums are also hard, but they're not that fun. Cool drums to listen to, but not so fun to play. Maybe when I get good enough to breeze through them, I'll enjoy them more.

I've found some songs to be fairly easy on expert. Namely Maps and Enter Sandman. I think it's because the bass is a constant tempo, with few off-beats. So my leg can sort of fall into a rhythm and I don't have to think about it much.

the drummer for Fall Out Boy is pretty solid. their songs aren't terrible complex, but he builds them nicely, and has some good fills.

I am still yet to beat Run To The Hills on Hard, but I've managed to get down to Don't Fear the Reaper and Foreplay/Longtime (the rest of the songs in that teir I've beat; I'm just stuck on those two). I'll get around to beating Run To The Hills eventually...

Some parts in expert songs are easier, becasue the beats you have to play are closer to the real song beats that you hear. On hard, sometimes it would not have notes where a drum sound played and I would have to hold back, esp if its a song I know well.
Fall out boy was suprisingly tough. I can get through the Police's Next to You, but the beggining beat I just can't do well on. Not sure if I am off beat with the bass or what, but I always start to loose ground during that part and later in the song at the same type of beat.

I can not seem to beat Run to the Hills on hard....I get around 60 or 70 percent...all the rest are beaten.
I have done quite a few on expert, but not enjoying all the bass pedal beats....cause my pedal is taped up/reinforced so it feels weird.
On a few songs I steadly swear at the tv while my leg goes up and down quite fast trying to get back in line with the beats.

try Ride the Lightning on expert, there's 2 crazy fast places on the songs that require you to spam the bass pedal. I find it fun :D
95% in that song, #9 leaderboard on that song as of yesterday.

Well I just defeated Iron Maiden in combat a few minutes ago by the skin o' my teeth. I had to ignore a good deal of yellow as it threw of my timing, but that didn't help a whole lot.
So I stayed in the red almost the entire song, and finished with of course three stars.
As for Ride the Lightning...its one of my favorite songs.....but I think I will stay away from it on expert....with the drums anyway.

Hell, Mississippi Queen tears my leg up on expert lol. I was not expecting all that bass pedal work. I didn't last long. I've been playing drums for 8 years but I have a double pedal and I cheat on parts like that by alternating my legs. Anyway, I was hoping that Rock Band would help me get better by forcing me to use one foot. Looks like I was right. It definately helps me to work on better foot control. That will teach me to take shortcuts on the drums lol.

oh there's no denying that - the drum pattern is real nice in tha song.. i haven't really heard anything else by them except for the singles, so i wouldn't know anything else about them.. but i was just saying in the "Ultimate Setlist" forum, the trend seems to be hating Fall Out Boy with a passion by most of the members

Ohhhh you should try Ride The lightning on drums expert, it's so much fun. I'm having a blast with it each time I play it. It's not that hard.

Well, I'm officially 10 songs away from finishing Exper drums solo tour.
I managed to get past Det. rock city last night and did it with 4*'s and 93% hit.
I'm not shooting for perfection because well, I'm not that good, YET, on expert drums.
I have done GGHT on expert drums in band quickplay and I hit 99% with 567 note streak. It's just boring b/c of the repatition of the beats.
Hopefully in 3 more weeks I can update this thread and be saying "I'm finally done!!!".
Check back soon.

I'm up to the 6th or 7th tier on expert drums. I still haven't beat run to the hills on hard though.
I'm stuck on Fallout Boy and Detroit Rock City at the moment.

Have you tried going back to run to the hills since you started your expert career?
Usually going from expert speed to hard speeds helps slow things down and helps a lot.
I'm dreading rtth on expert. Oh god please help.

Man I was so boggled by War Pigs... Downloaded it last night and managed to scrape through expert with 3 band members, failed out once. That's a hell of a technical song. AJFA I did actually pretty well my first run through but the band couldn't keep up and we failed out.

Don't worry too much, RttH was much easier for me on Expert than it was on Hard :)

Yeah I've played it on band quickplay locally with my cousin and brother and I think i passed it but when they go into overdrive, every hit I actually make, keeps me afloat so, that helped.
But by myself, I don't think I'll make it.
