Hello,

I've been playing TBRB pretty much non-stop. I play drums/
expert. It's awesome, but some of RIngo's fills are a pain in
butt. LOL. He's actually a lefty playing on a righty set. I
find it pretty challenging that to play some of his rolls
accurately when you have to start with your weak hand.
I was surprised and glad. I've been playing RB2 on
expert, so I was sure I would breeze through the Beatles
game. Has anyone else found any of the drumming on
expert challenging?

I am also a RB1 & 2 expert drummer, and was very pleased to find how challenging Ringo's drum work actually is.

I usually play on hard or expert for the easy songs, and not only did I drop to medium to get 5 stars on a few songs, but I had to do them a few times to get that fifth star. Some of the medium charts are filled with kick pedal work you normally don't see till hard in RB2. I also found the Bass part more challenging than I expected.

When I got the game I thought: I'll Goldstar this game (on drums) pretty fast... but no, there are song that I think I'll never FC, because those damn rolls (ticket to ride????)... but I'm happy because that will keep me playing this amazing game

I usually just play drums on medium or easy. But I'm glad to hear that playing drums Ringo style isn't as easy as we all thought, that shows he had real talent, that's why he was such a strong element in the beatles band.

His rolls are challenging because 99% of them are triplets or sixtuplets, instead of the usual eighth or sixteenth notes. They tend to be pretty hard to wrap your head around.

Ringo definitely has his own style. I've been playing Expert drums on RB since shortly after it's initial launch and I still have trouble with some Beatles songs.

One thing I noticed is when I see Kick Pedal + Green note at the end of a fill, I expect it to be a Crash cymbal hit but....nope it's floor tom. I play with the madcatz cymbal add-ons so I try to be as accurate as possible, for my own enjoyment. He keeps throwin me! Damn you Ringo! :D

The fast polyrhtyhm section in Good Morning, Good Morning is both ridiculous and impressive.

This thread just makes me more anxious to see how the fills and rolls in "Oh! Darling" will play out when Abbey Road is released.

I wonder if lefty RB drummers find his stuff easier? I mean, can we really judge the difficulty of Ringo's playing when we're all trying to do his fills backwards? :)

+1

But it is so much fun. I love the challenge.

Ringo only had one bass drum in his kit.

Compared to what I see these days, Ringo's standard kit was fairly minimal -- snare, bass, hi-hat, two toms, and two cymbals (I believe both crash, but I'm no drummer.)

I don't think double bass means the amount of bass drums a drummer has. It refers to the number of hammers hitting that bass drum. Sorry to all the drummers out there if I used the wrong terminology.

I find I play most of them with double stroke, expect the real fast ones as my doubles arnt that fast.

I got RB1 and 2 and lots of DLC and most of the tracks are pretty easy on Drums compared to them games.

But its still fun to play and the songs make up for the slight lack of difficulty in my opinion.

It can mean either, actually. 2 kick drums, or a double pedal on one drum. Both are called "double bass". But Ringo still didn't use it.

I always thought the bass noises in Good Morning was overdubbed bass pedal.

I like the drumming, but I've felt it's for the most part much easier than RB2. With a full band I can pass most 4-dots on Expert in RB2 now, but I haven't met anything that I can't beat in TB:RB.

Looking at the drum charts has really helped me with my drumming on my real kit. Some of his parts are quite hard to pick out (not so with the new remasters, but I've only got Please Please Me).

Once I find a cheap enough RB drumkit, I'll be able to actually play drums on RB! Egads!
